Aw shel, just type a really long reply to you and then lost connection! Oh well, annoyances aside I'm glad you are back posting, but would obviously have preferred you to be staying away for all the right reasons, x
My fertile days have been completely missed this cycle as my OH is still away and spent today going to the doctors and to hospital and is unable to travel to see me, so we are once again stuck with hundreds of miles between us. But I know that the most important thing now is for him to get better and that is what knocks sense home to me.
PMA can leave us all at times, but sometimes it is the silliest of things that helps to lift the darkness, x
Ginvzt, hope this afternoon went well and you'll be back with news soon, x
Have a good weekend everybody, x0 -
Shel glad to see you back, hope your knee feels better soon and you get back to bding!
Ginvzt, I too hope your lap went well
MadMac - hi, hope your timing gets better for next month - at least the 2ww is easier (although no consolation)
We had a lovely time away - travelodge overbooked the hotel, so booked us into a best western hotel - we paid £60, it cost them £210!!!! We got free breakfast, and a pool in the hotel so we had a WONDERFUL time, we have others booked, I hope we get overbooked agan!!

Wow, that sounds like a very good MSE style deal, well done Lilo!
Hope we hear soon from Ginvzt, but no news is good news sometimes and hopefully she has something to celebrate now!
As I ovulated so early this cycle, I'm assuming it won't even be a 2WW, but much shorter - so might get it over with quickly, fingers crossed, x0 -
Well, as usual nothing to report here.
Though I have decided to buy a mooncup and see how I get on with it. I don't know about you Lilo but since my surgery my AF is alot heavier than it used to be, but maybe that's coincidence and it would have got heavier anyway? Who knows?
Having said that my AF has changed during the last year in that I used to get a couple of days of spotting/dbs then AF would be in full flow for 4-5 days (quite heavy) then a day or 2 again of spotting/dbs, then it would end. In allI would be out of action for up to 10 days.
The last few months though it has changed to more like 4-5 days spotting/dbs, 2 days very very heavy flow then a couple more days of spotting/dbs then done.
So I'm still out of action for about 10 days but the time being in full flow has changed and its much more heavier.
My surgeon said he could do more surgery to try to make AF lighter but if it doesn't work it will most likely make them worse. I said I'd stick with the devil I know
I thought I'd try the mooncup as ladies rave about it on this site and whilst I don't really mind using pads/tampons I do feel very 'icky' down there as the flow is so heavy
Well for having nothing to report I said quite alot :rotfl::heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Shelly, let us know how you get on. Mooncups have always intriuged me but I assumed I couldnt use them as AF is always very heavy, something I think I inherited from my mother. I too hate that icky feeling.0

welcome skintmumofone. Sounds like you've been at this a good while. Are the doctors willing to take you a step further - clomid or something similar? I assume they won't give you IVF on the NHS as you have DS, but surely they have something else to suggest? I would suggest popping in to see them to let them know how your weightloss is going. (Well done by the way!) Good luck
Hi ladies and thanks for welcoming me to your thread.
The doctors offered me IVF but we would have to fund it ourselves. They said as we have ds and know I can get pregnant there is nothing more they can do unless my periods start becoming irregular and hey presto was 37 days last month and 31 this month got them yesterday
They also told me to loose more weight and I am trying that first. I am so fed up seeing pregnant women and babies everywhere I look it gets to me sometimes but then I remember my ds's cheery wee face and I am fine.
Took us 16 months to fall pg with him so I know it will happen eventually mind you would love it to happen now as he is about tostart school in a few wks and it would be great to have some time with him.

Hi everyone, I'd like to join too please. Both myself and OH are 31 and have been ttc for just over 2years. I've had an HSG and all is fine with my tubes and his swimmers are apprarently ok - 65% of them are alive and kicking. But we're getting nowhere and the consultant has said that I can't be treated with hormones etc until I lose weight as my BMI is 42. That sounds hideous but I'm very tall and a size 18/20.
My periods were regular until 3 months ago when they stopped because I'd put on a little weight - my cycle should start again when I lose a few pounds as this has happened before. So now I'm on a huge health kick to lose 7 stone and I feel so guilty all the time. Because I can't stop eating I might be depriving OH of the chance to have a family:mad: It's a huge viscious circle. I really need this and his best friend and wife got pregnant on their honeymoon and so did 2 of my close friends. His parents won't stop asking when we're having kids because he won't tell them we're having probs.
Any advice or recommendations on fertility monitors -whether they'd be any use to me? And any natural remedies I can take to help balance my hormones while I try and shift some weight - Slimming World on Tuesday and gym tommorrow:D"I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better." Hi skintchick and welcome to the thread! Have they given you any idea as to why you may be having probs, or is it 'unexplained' infertility?
When I needed to lose weight, I followed a PCOS diet (polycystic ovaries) which is based on the principle of keeping your blood sugar at a stable level. It was quite extreme though - no carbs except fruit and veg and no dairy, so quite restrictive!! Its based on the hunter-gatherer diet, ie mainly meat and veg. I actually enjoyed it, which makes me very sad! and lost 1 stone in weight. After a couple of weeks I had to introduce some carbs as I found that I lacked energy, but I did feel absolutely great! I actually got pregnant at that time, although sadly I mcd and apparently a detox can lead to a fertility surge. Dont know if this helps, but thought I would pass on my findings! Evening primrose oil and agnus castus can help in balancing hormones - if you google them they will give you info, but you would prob be better to see a herbalist first to get proper advice - I have really screwed my cycle at times taking these things.
Hi Shelly, let us know how you get on with the mooncup. I went the opposite I am afraid, my periods were heavy and are now quite light - its almost like the surgery has put them back to normal! I used to get a lot of clotting, and this has virtually gone now - I did think my mcs were caused by this sort of thing, clotting in the placenta so I am pleased it seems to have cleared. Mine werent always heavy, and I think it does change as you get older I was probably mid thirties when they started to change. Hope this helps!
I hope we hear from ginvzt soon too Madmac, hope everything went well

If you are interested have a read of this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=196357
I warn you though it's epic! I only got to page 11 and my queries hadn't been brought up so I skipped to last page and asked my questions.
Lots of women on there use the mooncup and have heavy periods but have rarely leaked. They say for a couple of cycles to check if the cup needs emptying quite often until you get used to it. Some go all day without having to empty it!
Me, I'm paranoid so will most likely wear a pad too, especially at night.
HTH and I'll keep you updated how I get on with it:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Lilo - Have you got any information about the PCOS diet? Because I am really interested in the aspect of stabilising my blood sugar0
