    Hi
I'm new to this thread as well, and have been too scared to read the previous thread - Partly because this would mean admitting that there might be problems.

I am 30, my husband is 36. We were trying for about 18 months and had come were about to go to the GP for tests when I fell pg at the start of the year. Unfortunately there were potential development issues with the baby and I was about to have an amnio when we found out that the baby hadn't made it. I had to have a delivery as I was 15 weeks gone - Not nice.

We had tests done on the placenta as the docs were worried about chromosome problems. Fortunately, this has come back clear.

We are now trying again, but every month that goes by breaks my heart a little more. I should have been finishing work about now for maternity leave.....

Any advice as to how to get pg again quickly would be very greatfully recieved!

    Welcome to the club, Sus1e!

there are many different cases here, and mine is nothing like yours - we have been trying for a while no with nothing happening, but no answers as yet - hopefully, will get some on Friday! I haven't managed to fall pg yet, so I can't compare myself with you.

I can only imagine how hard it is for you, but at least test came back clear...

I am sure someone will be here to share how they cope with mc. I do count every month we don't get BFP, and every following month I think oh, if we get lucky, the baby will be born on xth day, and I can start my maternity leave on that day, if I take my holidays from work it could work that way, etc. It probably doesn't help in reality, but it helps me coping in its own way. It was a shock when I first reallised I would have no baby until 2010, but as the months go by, it gets easier. Also, I think in my mind I went from hoping/believing every month that it will be BFP that month to thinking that it is not going to work. Although, for the last few months I was having tests, etc., so when all is done, I think it might be much harder to accept the AF or BFN...

    Sorry, I 'mumble' a lot....

Hi Sus1e, welcome to the thread.

Sorry to read about what you have gone through this year so far and hope it gets better for you.

I am more than a little annoyed last night/this morning.
In April this year I called my GP to refer me to Addenbrookes as my consultant (for the cancer) has stopped doing Private practice but still wanted to see me (as he was the surgeon that's fair enough)

A few weeks ago I called my consultant to see if had got the referral as my next smear is due in August and I hadn't heard from him regarding making next appointment. He said he wasn't sure if he had received the referral or not and would check the next day and get back to me if he hadn't received it.
Well I have heard nothing but my paranoid/curious mind likes to check things so I emailed him yesterday only for him to reply that he hadn't received the referral so could I ask my GP to re-send it!!

I spoke to GP today and he said he will re-send the referral letter and I have emailed consultant back and told him I will check in 2-3 weeks time again to see if he got it or not.

I'm just cross wondering how long he would have left it before letting me know he hadn't received the referral?!?
I know he is probably busier now he has given up the private side but that doesn't make me feel better! :o

    Thanks for the rant.

oh and last night right before going to bed I scared myself to death trying to kill the biggest, baddest, ugliest moth you have ever seen!!! I hate the things and couldn't go to bed until it was gone, then even though I knew it was dead and flushed down the loo I laid awake for ages as I had got so flustered :o :rotfl:

Bumpy bump!!!! We dropped to the third page - I was in a bit of panic that our thread has disappeared!!!

Where is everyone? Hope you are all feeling ok, and I didn't pass the dreaded flu through virtual spaces... Although, now I am fine and well, OH (and me, must confess) is doubting if it was swine flu after all... All symptoms were gone so quickly, and just a bit of increased temperature lingered for for few days (we are talking just above 37, nowhere near 38 as at first). Who knows, maybe I still have it to come properly!

I keep reading about the laparoscopy, the procedure, the ga, the recovery, etc... I know I probably shouldn't, as I getting a bit more anxious and worried about it all, but I want to know what to expect! OH took a day off on Friday, so will have to think what can we do in the morning rather than just sitting and waiting for when it is the time to go to hospital.

When I had hospital appoints. in the afternoon, I made sure that we did something nice and relaxing in the morning. Luckily we live close enough to the countryside to go out for a walk. If this is no good for you, why not go swimming or have a pamper session.

Just relax and take your mind off it for a bit.

We have a couple of parks/country walks around, just need to hope for nice weather. The problem is, I get very thirsty very quickly (I already had 1.5l of water this morning), and I will have to stay away from any drinks that day!!!!!

Was thinking to go to cinema, but might be to tight to get back to hospital. Probably end up cleaning the house, as it seems all I do when I have day off!

Good afternoon all, hope everybody is keeping as positive as possible. :grouphug:

Sus1e, my sister went through something very similar to you and as you've probably read is now in the process of adopting - she just didn't dare to try again after what happened, so well done to you for picking yourself up and carrying on far better than she has managed to, x

Ginvzt, so glad to read you're feeling better - so onwards and upwards and yes, cleaning the house (and car!) always makes the time fly by for me so it isn't a bad idea? Will be thinking of you, x

Shelly, aww, I quite like moths! ;)

I feel like a spotty teenager again and the only thing I can put it down to is the clomid, I have really broken out quite bad all over my neck. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end. I walked past Ripleys when I was out and about yesterday, so popped in to stroke the fertility statue again.....I think I'm obsessed.

Ginvzt - I'm like you and have to read up online about procedures, it sometimes does have a negative effect of making me worry more though.

  • Hi I am 39 and DH is 32, got married August 2004 and started trying for a family straight away, April 2004 no af so tested and got BFP, Had ds November 2004, 8 wks early due to pre eclampsia and abruption of the placenta. Never went back on the pill after ds was born as wanted a big family and close together..... started trying again in May 2005 but since then nothing happening, got referred to the fertility clinic both of us got tested January 2008 and found nothing wrong said we were both healthy dh producing enough swimmers, me ovulating when I am meant to etc but still no BFP?

Also decided to lose some weight as we were advised to and have now lost over 18lbs since January 2008 slow I know but its staying off. Was over 16st and now just under 15 so doing great but determined to get that BFP before I turn the big 40 next yr.

Due af yesterday and no signs no symptoms - nothing but last month was 8 days late and done a test and it was negative body is playing tricks with me and my af so hoping either for good news this week or af, would be good to know one way or the other.

    Good luck everyone x
