  • JohnnieStar, I am also on Antidepressants - mine are okay for pregnancy, that was the only way I would take them. I would suggest you go and chat to your GP about coming off them and the best way to do this, or change to a different one if you still need to take them. No judgements made here!!

Good luck with the weight loss, must start that myself

JohnnieStar, I second Lilo's post! My OH is an anti-depressants and when you need help, you need help - end of! It is an illness, just like any other. So do take Lilo's advice and go and discuss the suitability of your meds with your GP, as we know they aren't all suitable for taking during pregnancy.

And I hope your diet isn't too strict - everybody needs a treat every now and again!
  • Thanks, the only reason I asked people not to judge is because I have been on certain other forums before where people can get very judgementle. Im glad it isn't the case here! Im going to ring the dr for an appointment today :) x

Oh and MadMac - I ended up spoiling my diet last night when DF bought me some Galaxy cookie crumble home! Mmm :P

    xxx
  • Dont worry Johnnystar, I know what you mean - but we try and just be supportive and understanding here. the worst you will get is a (gentle) kick up the bum when you need it if your PMA (positive mental attitude) goes AWOL!!!!!

    Galaxy cookie crumble ..........................yum!!!

Hello to everyone new, heres hoping we all get our BFP in 2010.
My first appt at fertility clinic went really well. Staff were really nice. I have to go and get bloods on 17th Jan (hubby got his today). And DH has to go for a detailed semen analysis on 2nd feb when we also both have to hand in urine samples. And then get to see the consultant himself on 10th Feb. So hopefully my bmi will be down to under 35 for 10th feb as nurse said consultant is strict and wont progress until brought to 35. She said that my bmi was 36 ( I think she has worked it out wrong though as I thought was 37-38). She brought up fact that turning 38 in April so that they need to get me on referal list prior to that. So feeling really positive. Contemplatin going to gym but really cold outside so might just kick hubby of his ps3 and do my Hannah Waterman fitness dvd.

Ooh chocolate.... just wish I had some in the house, but my cupboards are looking pretty bare right now!

Sarah - hi and Happy New Year to you also!

Hamish, well done - that doesn't sound bad at all then really, just one point to drop! I like their method if it comes out at less than you make it, fingers crossed (but not needed) as you'll make it - as Lilo says, what a prize to win at the end of it. How exciting!

I posted on here a while ago about TTC. Myself and hubby have been trying for 3 years to no avail.

Got referal to consultant early 2009 and had tests done. We knew hubbies count was affected due to his disability and meds so knew it would be more difficult than for most. We were given an initial 3 month course of clomid and nothing happened, because we went off and got married, had honeymoon etc i had 2 cycles with no clomid before getting another apptmnt with consultant.

Here i was given another 3 months clomid and told on next cycle i was to ring up on day one to book in for folicular tracking from day 10 but making sure i still took clomid from day 2.

Had tracking from day 10 to day 17, fertility nurse said although left ovary likes to hide on screen both had 'popped' and to go away and bonk like mad (within reason) and test on day 28 if no AF. Being stubborn gave it an extra couple of days to test and this took us to xmas eve. BFP on clear blue test and again on xmas day after finding a chemist open. Due to the festive season had to wait till tues to get confirmed by gp and saw mw but started to mc on thurs and was fully bleeding and clotting on mon. Had emergency app with epu for early scan which showed every thing was clear - as already posted on the preg thread received horrible treatment and have not been back to hospital since.

Saw own gp yest and have been told as soon as we are comfortable to try again but make sure we use the clomid. Im sceptical about using clomid straight away as i have read that occassionally mc's can kick ovaries into over drive and where as conception had been quite difficult previously it can be extremely easy to catch the next time (providing dtd on right times). I know the risk of multiple preg is increased with clomid i really dont wanna risk it on top over over active ovaries.

Have talked it through with hubby and agreed to get at least one normal cycle out the way before ttc again.

Has anyone used clomid after MC and had multiple preg or am i being irrational?

  • Stef240377, so sorry that you have had these problems, I hope you are coping okay. It seems to be the case that you are very fertile straight after a miscarriage, but whether it is a medical fact I dont know.

Others may be able to add more - and welcome to the thread - Lilo
