Lilo, I hate it when I get these crazy cycles. You've had a lot of stress recently and that's probably got a lot to answer for. My cycles have been moderately consistent for a couple of months. School starts up on Monday, and we've got a brand new head taking over, so who knows how the stress will go for me...?Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Hi all
I have never been in this part of the board before. Im not currently TTC, but I have an 8 month old baby boy, who I conceived using Clomid after I found out I had PCOS in Jan 08. I just want to wish everyone GL and baby dust, after seeing some people also have PCOS. I hope I get to know some of you better, as I will be TTC later on this yer hopefully!
I haven't read the whole thread but want to say Congrats to Durham girl!

Welcome JohnnieStar, thanks for the positive story. This thread is fantastic for those of us who need a bit more patience when ttc. Will you be on the clomid straight away when you start ttc later in the year, or do you give it all a go au naturel to start with?Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0

Oh Ange (Welcome to you too!), there are plenty on here who've been told they could benefit from losing a little weight. Please don't let it keep you off the docs as a whole (but maybe go see a different one if the last one was a bit tactless). There's so many things they can check and sort for you, you just have to suffer actually seeing them. I had a completely scanky, messed up fallopian tube, and my chances have increased so much now they have found and removed it. Sometimes you can't do it on your own.
And thanks for the good wishes! I agree, this will be our year!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -

jibs - We are thinking about going natural at first, because we know we will get sent away for a while if we dont. It would also be nicer to get a natural BFP. We just dont know when to start! DF wants to ASAP , where as I want to wait till Aug/Sept after my sisters wedding (I already have to lose weight to get in my bridesmaid dress!). And we can hopefully get more on top of money by then.
Ange - I know how frustrating it can be going to the Drs all the time, but they will help. Dont be put off. I wish you all the luck in the world!

JohnnieStar, just go with it when it feels right. Only the very lucky fall straight away - and we are all on the slow boat to Australia here! I know what you mean about natural - although I have had IVF, My DS was a 'natural' and I put off IVF for ages because that is what I wanted. However, these days, I will take anything!!!!
Day 38 of the most messed up cycle ever here, I think I may have the early signs of AF, but who knows! I keep thinking that I could be BDing for the next month by now! Still, with what is going on, I am not sure I ever want to BD again! Ive been put off for life!!!!

Thanks for kind words everyone! Guess the best course of action is to indulge in a little bit of nagging/whinging/stomping of feet at the doctors until someone listens/helps/waves a magic wand for me

The first Doctor I ever went to see about ttc was only about 7/8 months in and I went because the stress was getting to me and my hormones were running riot. He told me the only way to regulate my hormones was to go on the pill and I obviously didn't want that. Then he basically asked me if my husband was involved in me ttc and implied that I might be trying behind his back. He made me so frustrated and I cried my eyes out in the office (and at home again later). I then decided that the practice needed to know how badly he had spoken to me because he shouldn't be able to carry on speaking to people that way...
Anyway, I have it on my notes now that I don't have to see him again, every other doctor I have seen has been incredibly sensitive and as helpful as they can be. It just goes to show the difference between a doctor that has an idea of how uptight you will be feeling and a doctor that doesn't give a damn. Keep trying till you find a good one. And I recommend taking OH to help you feel a bit stronger. I hate that I was on my own when that one doc was so mean, I would never have felt so exasperated had I had hubby with me.
Make that phonecall tomorrow ange!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0
