  • Hubby got results of his test today. Was over phone. Didn't go into to details just stated that he was normal. So that's good news. I have smear booked on 22nd Dec and then going for my transvaginal ultrasound on 7th of Jan. So two things not too look forward to

Had my 3 month check up today. Everything is okay, just waiting for the results of the smear test taken. Back in another 3 months. I have another colposcopy and MRI scan in September, which is after 18 months, which will be reassuring.

Glad today went ok and let us know when you get your results. I'm sure they will be negative.
Rather you than me having another colposcopy though. My first one was awful, the anaesthetic hadn't worked on the bit she burnt her way through.....the pain was intense!

I think I have commented before about how our treatment has varied when we have had the same thing wrong with us. I haven't had to have another colposcopy or MRI scan. All I have had is 3 monthly, then 6 monthly and now yearly smears.

Oh well, I'm sure the docs know what they are doing :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • You have done so well, Shelly. I think it is because the Marsden is a Cancer specialist centre, and also that I am participating in research re cervical cancer so they get copies of the mri scans, I think.

Nichart, it is difficult being with pregnant ladies, isnt it. I avoided my step daughter in law for 9 months because of this! It will be your turn soon - can you find out what seat they are all sitting in!!

  • Lilo - congrats on the postive news. I'm sure your other results will come back equally clear. The further on you get the easier it gets to believe it won't come back. I just got my 5 year all clear but I still have to go back for another 5 years. I have been told this is because I was one of the first to have this treatment so they are just being ultra careful plus my tumour (at that time) was the largest one they had removed so again I think they are just being ultra careful.

Shelly - it is interesting how different our after care has been. I didn't have to have another colposcopy but I did have 1 more MRI a year after the op - I remember it vividly as I had just got engaged and made my mum hold my ring as I didn't want to leave it in the hospital locker!!

Nichart - I'm with you on all the pregnant people. I work in my companys H&S department and have to see all the pregnant people risk assessments and people coming asking for advice. There is one lady who got accepted into London Marathon which I had entered and didnt' get in and she will now be 6 months pg in April so will have to defer - I would gladly take her place - either in the marathon or the pg part!!

Hope everyone is looking forward to Christmas, I just want to get my op out of the way next Tuesday and then I can put my feet up - I may have to milk the sympathy on Wednesday a bit!!

Lilo - great news!!!! I am sure that the tests will be fine too!!! You all ladies are so brave and strong, I am proud to know you (well, at least on MSE!).

nichart - it is hard 'to miss' a month, but nothing we can do about it... On the other had, we 'missed' quite a few months for no fault, just not getting pg... And a break is good sometimes.

I have just 5 days left till I take my Christmas break - can't wait for it!!! I am so fed up, I can't find any motivation to work. I am not planing to go back to work until 11th of January, so that should be a nice break. I have so many things I want to do, but never find time with everything going on, that I hope I will be able to do at least some of them before going back to work!

angeldavis - not long till you trip at all!!!! I am sure you are excited!

CD 9 here, high on CBFM for the second day. But - I am so tired, don't think there will be any bd-ing here. I was literally collapsing last night at 9pm and had trouble getting up this morning, and that is after having a decent sleep night before! Probably my body is demanding it's break this time. I still want to keep going at least until next Tuesday, as I am planning not to come back to work until January 11th. Oh, and it's my office Christmas 'party' on Saturday, which I really don't want to go, but I promised to, so will have to keep up...

  • Not good news on the test results unfortunately. The Doctor has just called to say that they have found signs of early cell changes, and I need to have another colposcopy and MRI scan to find out what is going on. They are not cancer cells, but early changes. I dont know how to feel to be honest. I have no more tissue that they can remove, so I assume that if it looks dodgy, it will be a hysterectomy this time. I cant believe that having been given the hope back, it looks like it will be taken away again. On one level, I know that I dont want to run the risk of losing my life, and to have more chopped away is better than that. I just worry that it will start changing somewhere else instead, and the nightmare will never end.

Sorry to be such a downer on the thread, Its just that I have only just got the news and really, really, want to explode. I am really worried now and just when I was looking forward again, I am being dragged back into the nightmare. Another ruined Christmas, (although that really is the least of my worries)

I was going to post that I am on day 21 and still showing high on the CBFM, which is now 13 days of high. Have given up bding, need the sleep - although that may be hard to come by now for a while.

Oh Lilo, what on earth can I say? I will hope, pray to any God that will listen and send every wish I am granted your way to see you through yet another nightmare. You poor, poor thing - I will keep everything crossed (no need to uncross anything anyway in MadMac towers) that the news will be far better than you are thinking and that less drastic intervention will be employed.

Don't be a stranger, come and have a moan whenever you feel the need.

Sending lots of love and hugs your way, xx
