He explained that it was because 'a substantial number' of women on clomid became pregnant within the first 3 months (therefore not particularly cost effective to monitor everyone) and the remainder within the next 3 months (as it can have a cumulative effect on fertility/ cycles). I know it's frustrating but the odds are in your favour at the moment so as hard as it is stay positive and don't lose heart!
Also I think clomid can affect OPKs- makes them less reliable. I'm not 100% on this but I'm sure there are a couple of clomid ladies around here who could confirm that...
Hi Tea
I guess my trusts policy is the same as yours then. I have heard that its this sort of wonder drug but it appears to me that whatever I try just never works.
The OPK's i used last month worked even though I was on clomid - it was the strongest + result I had ever achieved and the worst case of an outbreak of spots ever. Roll on this month, barely getting a second line on the OPK and no spots. But I did have loads of EWCM (could be because of the grapefruit juice which was ming!)
I have just left a message for my doctor and am asking her to agree to increase my dose to 100mg for my 3rd cycle. That and book me an appointment for us to see her week of 09 September so she can refer us to the FS x0 -
Morning everyone.
Can I join in too? Thank you for doing this T2D...great idea.
Derby2 TTC#1 since 09/08. 34, DH 34. Stupidly low AMH, DH fine. Miracle BFP ended in m/c 01/13. 6 rounds clomid, 4 IUI. Next step IVF-first appointment on 5th August.
Bleugh-it's horrible to see it written down like that, isn't it? 5 years TTC in September. Feel like my life has been on hold-sorry, feeling a bit eeyore again today.
Does anyone else feel like their always waiting for something, whether it be ovulation, two week wait, the next appointment. I feel like I'm on an endless merry-go-round and I want to stop and get off with everyone else!
Added. I know the feeling, we have been trying for 3 years too. The time sort of gets away from you doesn't it! When I heard of people trying for 2 or 3 or 5 years, it sounded sooo long, but now I know many of us have been.
I try to console myself that for about 1 year we haven't really been trying for one reason or another, but still time marches on.So already got soaked waiting for a taxi (have misjudged the weather badly today) and am now in a meeting. Two of the people invited aren't coming - one is on maternity leave and one has really bad morning sickness. So now everyone else is having a lovely chat about their early symptoms and birth stories and how long they had off work.
Going to be a long day.
I hate those conversations, when you just desperately want everyone to move on. I must admit to generally drifting into thoughts of wine.
So I had my second tracking scan today, as part of a natural cycle to see what is happening. She said I had a very large follicle (17mm) for CD7. She also asked if I was still bleeding, as there is fluid in the womb. It has to go as if there was an embryo it would just be washed out if the fluid is still there.
I'm not sure what to make of that. I'm definitely not bleeding, I only bleed normally for a day or so, and this month it went into CD3 which is unusual in itself for me, but it seems there is still blood. Anyway, they will look again on Friday when they do the next scan. I'm also to do OPKs in case I ovulate before then. They also then called to say they would do the dummy embryo transfer on Friday too, which is when they pretend to do a transfer just to make sure it is possible.
I hope my tracking cycle is a bit longer than a week. It's £645, so I'm expecting more than a couple of scans!
On a positive note, it didn't hurt nearly as much as usual. :beer:0 -

Hmmm...my positive for today shall be...I bought the local papers to start looking for a new job
Check me out thinking about something not TTC related...I must be ill!0 -
Yet another poor little soul killed by people who shouldn't even be called parents
It makes me so angry when there are so many of us who would love the opportunity to protect & love a child but never get the chance.
RIP little one.0 -
TL - such a sad case and I too feel anger for all of us who would love the opportunity to bring up a child in a loving and carrying home x0

Have just been floored by a song on the radio. There was quite a short loop of music when we were at the hosp for EC/ET (5 or 6 songs max - we heard them a lot!) One of them used to make us laugh as it just seemed an odd choice for that environment. Just heard it on the radio and had to go and have a little cry in the toilet.
OH is there at the moment for the DNA fragmentation test - so he's probably listening to it as well! We spoke about it a bit last night and both said if we were honest we were expecting the worst from these results.0 -
Hosp just called - didn't make the threshold they need to do the test0

Oh Tea I'm so sorry.
Can you get out of the office for a bit?
