AFM - the doctor at the fertility clinic called today with the result of my amh blood test. The level was 7.5 which is classed as low fertility but that the doctor said that for my age 39 (40 later this year) that the level was reasonable and that if I was to try another cycle they would increase my dose of menopur from 225 to 300 in the hope that I would produce more eggs and that with icsi it should hopefully result on more being fertilised.

DH and I have our adoption open evening on 18 April 2013 and so we will go to that and then have another discussion after about whether to try icsi or apply for adoption. We cannot apply until at least 6 months after last ivf treatment and so if we did try again it would further delay the adoption process and as it is so lengthy anyway, I am leaning with forgetting about the ivf and going with adoption.

    Tealover,

That sounds good to me, especially as I think you said there were much fewer last time they did a scan. You have done all you can now, everyone here is sending 'grow well' vibes to those little embies!

Good luck for Saturday. Fingers and toes and everything crossed for you.

Thanks all x. I know the numbers are always different and it's impossible to guess the outcome...4 just seemed like such a little number!!

Got blood test tomorrow morning to check possible ohss, then should get an update in the afternoon.

Can't quite believe we're at this stage and actually have embryos....I feel v protective of them lol

I know the feeling tea lover. Whenever we go near the hospital where my embryos are I give them a wave and a virtual hug.

It's strange to imagine my future children hiding out there waiting for us to be ready.

Primmer - we'll be thinking of you; we've got our first home visit on the 22nd April. Quite nervous!

Me again! Sorry, constant questions today.

Is some red-streaked cm normal the day after ec? Only a small amount, & just in the last 10 mins but its really freaking me out.

Is it just because people were rummaging around up there?? Or could it be something to do with cyclogest (which is going in the back entrance BTW!)

    I need to chill don't I?

I'm not a doctor, but having had plenty of people poking around up there recently, I can say that a drop of blood is perfectly normal.

Remember they put a large needle up through the side of your vagina, up to the ovaries - so there is a small cut/large needle hole on both sides of there that could easily cause a little blood.

That, combined with high hormone levels, and a general bit of poking about, I wouldn't worry about stained CM.

hugs. Feel free to stress/rant/ask questions! It's a crazy time.

TL - I think we all worry about random things.

It reminds me - when I did my cycle I got bad backache the week or so before, so booked in for a massage. I ended up having it about 3 days before EC, and halfway through suddenly started worrying that a firm massage would 'pop' the follicles! All I could see suddenly were those little balls of liquid on the ultrasound and was convinced they were all being squeezed.

So, rather than stop it, I just completely tensed up - asked her to go a little lighter on my lower back, and left more stressed than I arrived - thinking 'have I completely messed up all that work?'!! Resulting in a sorer back due to tension, and a few days of intense stress, including stressing about being stressed as I was supposed to be relaxed!

The things we put ourselves through!!

Thanks t2d, you're right, this process can make you panic about the most random rhings. I'm pretty sure most of me would bleed a bit if someone took a sharp stick to it...I'll calm down.

Right...off to scoff the last creme egg before oh comes in lol
