On an unrelated note: hi Gilll! How are you doing? How far along are you? I try to keep tabs on the names I remember but there are a lot of you now! :o [edit] - just saw your scan! How exciting, its grey fuzzy blob! :rotfl: Only joking, congrats, bet you're chuffed to bits! I'm rubbish with understanding scans, I can never make anything out. Can't do magic-eye pictures either :o

Thanks Bitzer - I'm nearly 9 weeks now and after having scan am finally feeling pretty good!

I had some brown spotting at 5 weeks which I was worried about but found it was normal after looking online. Both the doctors and midwife really put the frighteners on me by saying I had to go to a & e if it happened again, and the doctor packed me straight off for a rhesus negative blood test to make sure mine and the babys blood hadnt mixed.

Had some more spotting 3 weeks later (Sunday) so followed their advice and went to a & e for emergency scan. I had seriously prepared myself for the worst so was amazing when I saw bubs and heard his heartbeat. (It was much bigger and clearer on the monitor than it is in the pic as well lol)

I keep lurking on here watching out for more BFPs, really hope to see some of you over the pregnancy thread soon.

All my life I have wanted a girl but since meeting DH and seeing him as a little boy on home video I really want a boy who looks just like him lol

My hairdresser guessed today (I'm not showing yet and have never spoke to her about wanting a family) Apparantly she's psychic! She said everything will be ok now and it's probably a boy :)

Re PG thread; just read it...words fail me...was there any need for it really????? I lurk only v occasionally over there and the vast vast majority of the ladies seem lovely..gill 81, kindofagirl, evansangel etc etc so the comments of some moaner intent on causing bad feelings really doesn't bother me.

confuzzled; am so not offended by your stance on smoking so don't worry. To be honest I think the only thing that would make me give up is being PG! I'm like you in that when I do (optimism there!) have a baby no one will smoke around him/her unless they have a death wish!

Re/ the June/July baby issue; It's weird because I've already thought about it! I'm not fussed about the schooling thing as I know plenty of people born at various times of the year of varying intelligence and providing the parental encouragement and support is there then I can't see it being a huge problem. I've also considered if from the MSE point of view in that it is one year's less child care to pay:money:. My friend's girl was born on 1 September and she was quite miffed (but not to the extent that she sent her back for a refund!).

Seems to be quite a few 'maybe's on here so everything crossed to those in that position.

I'll catch up and read through properly later; I keep promising to do that though I know so apologies to those who are new and I haven't welcomed; it's not personal honestly.

ETA: gill 81; your scan looks brill; sorry but I'm rubbish at 'reading' them but big congrats to you. Must have been a v special moment.

Have you been stressed this month? Or ill? I'm saying this as my cycles are about 26 days and I've had a 32-day one, where my ov was a week later as I'd picked up a tummy bug. Might be the same kinda reason for you maybe?

I started uni last month and i think i was getting myself worked up over ttc.

How is Saturday working out for you so far?

Bwoody windy up here in East Yorks. Not so great to cycle to work later as I will be doing but a fabulous drying day on the washing line.

Anybody testing today? If so good luck! I have my fingers, legs and eyes firmly crossed for you.

I am waiting for AF to start so we can seriously start trying on my next cycle. Roll on next week!
I have joined Cow & Gate and Aptamil online clubs today - they are giving away free baby cuddly toys..awwww. One is a little cow, the other is a polar bear.
I have started stocking a few bits and pieces in my "baby" drawer for when we do conceive, sad I know, but I am a bit fixated at the minute. :rotfl:

Good luck at Uni Moneysaver x x

I haven't been for a nosey over at the PG thread but I might do later...there are just soooo many posts to read.

Anyways I am off to start lunch for O/H before I jet off to work - but before I go, I just want to say: I am looking forward to Xfactor tonight....we find out who the finalists are...yeha!

Have a great day ladies. x x :smileyhea

I want a dog again now I'm not ttc. I always did but it didn't bother me so much when we were ttc. I miss not having a dog soooooo much.

  • Aww twinklie! Its really hard when you're used to having a dog about the house then you move out and its all empty. We were in our own place for exactly a month before we got our dog (though I was looking before then ;)) And even though he's dug several holes in the bedroom and lounge carpet  I love him to bits. I figure we'll replace them with laminate/wood once we've got a baby. I say "we" I mean OH really, I'll be conveniently "busy" :rotfl:
