Rik 1978: sorry to hear about your TTC story. I hope that you do find the answers that you're looking for and your story has a happy ending. Feel free to post here whenever you like; I don't think that there is not one person who hasn't experienced everything that TTC has thrown at them.

Confuzzled: AF is due for me on 3/10 so you might as well put me down on the testing list for the same day as yourself too! we could get 3 for the price of 1 !

I have a good feeling about this one but am not saying anything else for fear of jinxing it!

Nichart 20: someone (bitzer poss????) answered this very query not so long ago. Basically the advice was to rely on the position of the cervix by, ummm having a feel!. Have a search back (it was def within the last two weeks so you don't have to spend all night on here) OV tests can be affected by so many things. I was always told not to use first morning urine as it was too strong and you have to limit your fluid intake as that can also throw the result out.

  • Re the above, I found the post and it was from Bitzer so big thanks to her.

The sign that's most like an OPK in its accuracy is your cervix texture and position. A high, soft open and wet (SHOW) cervix is as certain as a positive OPK. You just have to get over the squeamishness of it, which, lets face it girls, sticking your finger up your chuff is the least of the indignities that will happen to you and your chuff once you get pg.... :rotfl:
  • Thank you elliebobs, I will go back for a read how to do that as dont have a clue?? in the afternoon I have not had a drink for 2 hours before I test, and because I BD sun & mon im unsure now if I should BD tonight and tomorrow or leave it for tonight and BD tomorrow and the next day hoping I get a darker line dont want to ruin the supply doing it too much.
sorry if I sound a bit desperate only have 2 months left on clomid and dont know where I am going from there!!
  • nichart- a fertile cervix feels
    - high (you may not even be able to reach it),
    - soft (like pressing on your lip rather than your nose) and
    - open (unless you've had a baby already then it will always feel a little open)

These things can be quite hard to spot if you don't regularly have a feel, but you should be able to feel its texture and position.

Your mucus should also be either stretchy egg-white type or watery, but don't worry if its not!

And BDing every day is not a bad thing unless he has a low sperm count, this is one occasion in life when less is definitely not more :p
Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.
  • thank you bitzer I will have a feel tonight as im off out for tea soon and dont want to do it before iygwim, I need to calm though lol

What have you got planned/managed to do so far????

Oh and this weekend I'll be making my 1st EVER christmas cake:j:T I'm so excited:D:D:D:D

WARNING! Long post. totally off topic... sorry guys but trying to take my mind off POAS testing due on Thurs!!

Re Xmas: well I am off to a good start. I don't have a load of people to buy for and I did a bit of Boots sale shopping in Jan which is all in the loft so I'll have to go through it to see what I need. My aunt loves royal jelly so I always get her a set in the sale!

MIL is always a problem. One year I bought her a £60 lux robe from john lewis (it came in a box too!) which was all soft and gorge. she spends a lot of time in her robe so I thought it was a good buy. Someone else got her a thin pink one with a hood that had a zip from ankle to neck - really cheap and horrible... she told us to take ours back. (I keep it in my guest room though).

However, this year I have won a pile of mills and boons books (including one from the saucy blaze collection) so I bought some lovely pink ribbon to tie them in a stack. I also won a cat jigsaw from ravensburger, they are really expensive to buy. She hates cats but loves jigsaws so that ones a bit of a mixed bag lol!! (I won another cat one from them too but in a different design so will save that for next year). So they are the red herring presents really as I have a 'star prize' in mind.

Also, she keeps saying she wants a laptop. Now my friend is selling her nearly new pc for £70 and will chuck in the printer and desk too so I think we will get her that too. Her daugter (my SIL) already pays for broadband in their house so that would work out well except MIL doesn't know how to use a computer :rotfl: and dh says it will be a pain 'cos she will need lessons and will keep breaking it...

She once sat for hours in her front room thinking the tv wasn't working. When DH got there she told him and he pressed the on off button and it came on. She usually leaves it on standby and didn't think to try that. Oh dear!

Now I know it seems a lot to spend, but she really does not have a lot and we always give her our cast offs (car, kitchen appliances, tools - you name it! Oh and we paid for her and her mate to go to mexico last year for our wedding... she would never have been able to afford it) and whilst we don't always see eye to eye on things and I will probably never be good enough to be with her son, she was better with me since we got married (after 10 years together ) I appreciate she has had a hard life and has little fun so do like to treat her.

    Over and out.

Sorry for the Huuuuge post but you did ask :rotfl:

  • Hello ladies,

Im still having lots of pain left side around my ovaries. AF came and went, still got pain. Been to docs who tested for ruptured cyst and it was negative. Did 2 pregnancy tests and both negative. They took blood today and will get results next week. Doc was worried it may be ectopic pregnancy but after 2 neg pt's she's looking at other things.
I am still worried about the possibility because ive heard the level of hormone might be too low to show a pos yet.
I need advice from someone who has experienced similar please?
    :-(
