So far although I haven't bought anything yet I have made a couple of hampers(parents are getting nostalgia one and friends are getting cosy night in one) I'm also making flavoured vodka for sister bf, niece and nephews are getting a token present to open and then having money put in their a/cs as they'e spoilt brats who want for nothing:rolleyes::)
ILs are getting a renewal of their National Trust membership and a token gift(probly homemade:))
And thats the majority of the 'big' presents sorted:T And now I have a car I can have a skeg around all the cheap shops that DH refuses to set foot in:rolleyes: SNOB!:rotfl:

Scotsgirl.... PJ xmas is exactly what our plans are if SIL isn't hereI'm ever so excited if I get the xmas I want. I don't have any family whatsoever so it's always just been me and DS which didn't bother me at all. I used have people feel sorry for me and ask what I did for xmas dinner
:rotfl:I used to do the whole turkey dinner just for the 2 of us!
Last xmas was my first xmas with DH (we met up for the first time a few days after xmas the year before) but we had SIL here as we got married the day before. I sooooooo want to have my chilled xmas with my little family.... and hopefully with a little bump as well;):j
Hope everyone is ok today xBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -

Hi All
Thank you for your help with yesterday's post from me. As AF hasn't turned up and I had a BFN on multiple occasions I have decided to start doing an Ov test daily to start off with. So i did one at lunch time today and the control line appeared first - no probs - thought I wasn't Ov but then a tiny faint line appeared a few mins later in the test bit - any ideas what a really faint Ov line means?
Thanks all

Hi there, I have been shyly lurking on the MSE forums for months now and I wanted to share my story with you all, I hope you don't mind.
I conceived within my first month of trying back in January this year. Unfortunately at the end of March when I was 10wk6d I had a bit of spotting and a scan two days later revealed I had had a missed miscarriage, with the baby being dated at 7/8 wks. I was booked in for a D&C the following day, and exactly 28 days later AF arrived. During this time two of my close friends had their babies in April and I felt so alone and isolated, no-one I know has ever been through this and although my friends and family are very supportive, they didn't really understand how painful and upsetting was for me and my husband. I felt like after a couple of weeks when I went back to work everyone but me had forgotten what had just happened.
So I fell pregnant again in my second cycle after the D&C but to be fair my husband and I didn't really have our hearts in it during the first cycle. I had a scan at around 8wks as I was understandably freaking out after what happened before. I was dated at 8wks3d we saw a heartbeat and was told everything looked perfect as was exactly where it should be. At exactly 11 wks (middle of August) I had a spot again and I knew what was happening. A scan dated the baby at 9wk this time and I asked them to check to see if they could see anything wrong but my ovaries, etc looked fine.
I decided to let nature take its course this time and not have the D&C so after another 5 days it all kicked off and after 5 hours I collapsed and I was rushed into hospital and kept in overnight as I had lost too much blood and gone into shock. So now I am recovering, giving up on the TTC for a few months and looking into getting some tests done privately, its not very MSE but I'm a scientist and I need some answers. I'm also rhesus negative blood type and so I want to find out if that's causing problems.
apologies for the essay style post0 -

I had a D&C/ERPC in Oct last year due to a blighted ovum at about 8 weeks (I hadn't had any bleeding) but I am rhesus neg as well. this was my first pregnancy and I spoke to the doctors and they gave me an anti-D injection after the operation, just incase there had been any mixing of blood (I know my DH is rhesus positive). In your first pregnancy it shouldn't factor into anything as there needs to be mixing of the baby's blood with yours and if it is rhesus positive then your blood will make antibodies to it and you become sensitised so future pregs, if the baby if rhesus positive then it can cause problems. So far I can't find anything that says it can affect/influence miscarriages, but may just need some more digging on the net.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/ask_the_doctor/pregnancyrhesus.shtml
EDIT: http://miscarriage.about.com/od/miscarriagecauses/f/rh_miscarriage.htm
Appears that Rh neg factor and having the sensitisation alone does not cause miscarriages.0 -
Hi Rik,
Just wanted to say Hi and Welcome. So sorry to hear what you have been through. I can't really say anything else having not experienced it myself but there is lots of support here if you decide to join in with us and want to get back to TTC.
Big hugs x0 -

A faint line on the OV sticks means nothing I'm afraid. It as to be the same or stronger than the control line to be a positive. Good luck with them
And hello to rik - I hope you return to TTC very soonBLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
thanks lizziebell, so sorry to hear about your loss too.
I had an anti-D injection after my D&C but not this time around - maybe because I let things happen naturally. I have heard of some women having multiple anti-D injections during their pregnancy if they have had recurrent (2 or more) miscarriages and are rhesus negative.
thanks jaqhale, i will stick around and let you know how I get on if that's ok?
hi smartie12, I have decided to give myself at least a couple of months and I need to make sure that there aren't any underlying reasons as to why this has happened.
myself and my husband desperately want children but after the trauma of the last miscarriage (for awful reasons I won't go into here) I need to get some answers - and being told by my GP that 'at least you can get pregnant' (which I know is a huge issue to many of you here) is not a comfort to me at the moment0
