Glam / Gisi I used a small suitcase on wheels ive fitted everything quite nicely and is easy to store and move about.

I have been in so much pain this afternoon i can barely walk and going up and down stairs is a nightmare. Ive been reading up about SPD and will ask the midwife about it monday when she comes to see me. Apparently 1 in 3 women suffer from it but it usually gets ignored or MW's tell the women to rest which doesnt help in most cases.

GISI glad it went well with your boss today and hopefully you won;t be so overworked from now on. Just make sure you do take it easy, leave the manual stuff to the other staff wherever possible and remember to put you and bubs first!

Glam that doesn't sound ideal but at least you know what to expect and hopefully it won't be too bad. Good sugar vibes for you and baby!!

So I've spent the last day or so thinking about homebirths. When I was at the MW yesterday she mentioned it very briefly, can't even remember exactly what she said but it got me thinking anyway. I want the whole experience to be as stress-free and relaxing as possible and I'm thinking maybe at home would be the way to do it. Plenty of time to decide and think it over anyway! And OH says he'd be happy with that if that's what I wanted and I think he can see the advantages without me having to spell it out which is pretty good for him!

Nobody was in can't believe it.:mad: have left a message that we will be down tomorrow so i will need to build the courage back up again.lol

Sarah i will keep you posted on how i get on when the time comes. I've chosen the home birth after two horrendous hospital births i just couldnt relax there and felt totally out of control and like no one would listen. I very rarely saw a midwife and never the same one twice during my first birth and second one i was delivered by a trainee as no midwifes could be found. This time i am guarenteed at least one fully qualified and a trainee or two fully qulifieds and a trainee also my freind from rugby said if she isnt on duty she will come over she is also a fully qualified midwife so i will be spoilt for choice lol :-)

    hey sorry im just lurking!
i had a homebirth and it was the best thing i have ever done! i had 4 hospital births 2 of them inductions and i never felt that i was in control, at home it was all up to me and the MW all took a step back and let me get on with it all! even when Erin arrived they didnt pressure me into doing anything and left an hour after the birth! if you want any more info just shout lol! x

Thanks very much, and no need to apologise, it seems most people have positive experiences of homebirths, even if the birth itself didn't go exactly to plan they were still pleased to be, or at least have started off at home.

That's exactly the kind of experience I'm after though, in control, all down to me and enjoying it as much as possible.

Has anyone had a home birth without a birthing pool? I'm not really sure about the whole water idea.

read back thru the birth stories thread there are a few on there.

you can just use the pool for pain relief and deliver outside, you don't have to deliver in the pool.

had tea - it was chilli and was very nice esp as bubs has finally moved - thanks for the vibes they worked!!!!

Sarah - I'm not planning on using a pool for my HB. I got in the bath both at home and in the hospital last time and really didn't enjoy being in the water at all.
