Gawd, you've never met my OH, possible the most disorganised person on the planet!! I've got a carrier bag in my labour bag with vest, sleepsuit, cardi, hat, socks and nappies for wee man when he pops out. If OH can manage to hand that over i'll be ever so proud LOL
well i've split my case into 2.
labour and post labour.
little outfit for baby and pj's for me.
havent packed hat or cardi for baby as any mat ward i've been to has been soooo hot
i have some in main case though just in case.
thought of carrier bag but i too thought it would be a miracel if DH (if he's still there) manged to had it over'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
fitzilian19 wrote: »have any of you girls bought a bump support band? (or been given one by physio?)
midwife suggested mothercare's one, as it is too late for me to see a physio now - takes 6 weeks to get appointment - amazon have it for £25, £10 cheaper...
just not sure if it's worth it or if i should just put up with this SPD-like pain...
Just spent ages catching up so sorry if some of these are too late.
Fitzilian - at my physio class they said they only give out bump support if absolutely necessary and then they are only to be used for walking around. (You can't sit in them anyway if the are working properly.) The point being that your muscles need to strengthen and if you have the support on all the time your muscles don't strengthen. The muscles the support supports are the ones that wrap around from your spine to your front like a corset but you can work on strengthening these by placing a hand on top of your bump and one below then just pull in your muscles under your bottom hand. Hope this helps.. There was mention on another part of the board about movies for £3 per month for 6 months. Will try that one a bit nearer the time.
You can get lovefilm to send you 2 DVD's per month for £3.Sarah_Joanne wrote: »I need to send off my booking form as apparently they get booked up really quick round our way. As far as I can tell from the form though it's only over 2 weeks - I expected it to be 3 or 4 weeks though. Did I just make that up or are other people getting more sessions?!

Kindof, your midwife should have told you about them at the booking in appt. I had a sheet stapled into my notes (green folder) which had all the contact numbers on the back. Also a form to fill out for the Antenatal which needed to be posted off to the physio dept at the local hospital.
This could be different depending on your area though. Is it worth ringing to ask or trying to remember at your next mw appt.Cross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way

ours is done at a local surestart centre. the mw said they do get booked up early.
i rang one that was taking place in July, but they said it was too early really for us to go. as the information you get is more to do with labour, relaxation etc last session i believe is a tour of the delivery unit and wards
i would say to ring the surestart centre nearest to you to see how far in advance they plan them ad then book yourself on. ours were only arranged bout 6 weeks in advance
Mine too is 4 sessions, 2 hrs long - 6-8 on a Monday at local surestart. One session includes tour of maternity unit.
Can't go until your more than 30 weeks and have to start at a week 1 session (obviously!)
Am I bad for asking to speak to the head of midwifery to say how disappointed I was with parentcraft? Have left a message for her to call meNo word from Suzy today?
Well, I noticed she thanked my first post this morning but didn't post herself so I'm wondering if she's either not up to posting or she went into labour mid post - fingers crossed it's the 2nd one!
Noticed Nicki's not been on for a few days but I might have missed her when I was skimming the other night.
Went to clinic - they are giving me my induction date when I go back next week  Urine fine, BP up slightly at 123/80 which is in normal range but high for me (normally 100/60) she said it was normal for further along in pregnancy but they would check again next week.
2 more days in work :jA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0
