Didn't want to put everything in 1 bag incase its not me looking for things IYKWIM

Just wanted to post a tip we were passed on at our antenatal classes - put everything you need to pack in a pile next to the bag (or bags) and get your partner to pack it, as invariably it will be them searching through the bags at the hospital to get out what is needed and it's better if they know where everything is.

I did this with mine, explained briefly what everything was for and when it might be needed and husband packed the bags (one for labour and first things for baby and one with bits for afterwards and a stay if needed) and he was brilliant in labour being able to find everything needed instantly - even though he used what looked to me like a random packing method and I was dying to rearrange it all!

Well done Nanc. I sat a one week course with an exam at the end at 20 weeks and failed by 6% so a very huge congratulations for being able to concentrate.

Must add, that week was the first week that I felt baby move, and I did spend most of the week gazing off into space marvelling at the little miracle in my tummy

I need to send off my booking form as apparently they get booked up really quick round our way. As far as I can tell from the form though it's only over 2 weeks - I expected it to be 3 or 4 weeks though. Did I just make that up or are other people getting more sessions?!

Gawd, you've never met my OH, possible the most disorganised person on the planet!! I've got a carrier bag in my labour bag with vest, sleepsuit, cardi, hat, socks and nappies for wee man when he pops out. If OH can manage to hand that over i'll be ever so proud LOL

Sarah, I had 3 weeks worth. 2 hours on a Thursday evening. I was told to book it at 20 weeks. I rang up at exactly 20 weeks to the day and was told I was the last one to get on that course.

All those classes, antenatal, breastfeeding etc, get booked up really early so I would book them as soon as you can.

ours is 4 sessions. 2 hrs per session every friday
ours is done at a local surestart centre. the mw said they do get booked up early.
i rang one that was taking place in July, but they said it was too early really for us to go. as the information you get is more to do with labour, relaxation etc last session i believe is a tour of the delivery unit and wards

i would say to ring the surestart centre nearest to you to see how far in advance they plan them ad then book yourself on. ours were only arranged bout 6 weeks in advance
