Just take it easy. Whatever urgent stuff is needed do with one finger. No need to suffer extra pain just for the last few days.

Can't believe you're finishing already, I'm so jealous. I'm planning to go back on Monday and try to work up until week before babys due now. Depends on what has happened in my absence the last couple of weeks. If it doesn't look like it will happen I'm not going to bust a gut over it. However, if all is going smoothly - which it better be - and things are still due on time then I will see it thought and graciously accept all the credit for a job well done.

Doc didn't say anything about seeing him next week to get signed off again so I'm taking that as a good sign.

What do you have planned for your time waiting for bubs?

Thats just it their was no mention of him contacting a midwife just that he would send a letter to the hospital because they may want to give me a scan to get some idea of how far along i was. So i am now left in limbo not knowing what is going on, and if it's like with my son i wont know if the overlook booking my scan. Did you's contact the MW independently of the doctor!

The reception staff at my doctors are rude and expect you too know these things without you even being told. like the stupid new appointment system they have.
When i was pregnant before i was given an appointment for MW their and then and she arranged everything and I knew who to contact with questions.

When I went to the GP, she filled out a referral form to the hospital, which must in turn assign the MW as my next contact was a phone call from the MW to arrange the booking appt. Not sure if it's this way for everyone, but I think my MW group is tied to my particular hospital.

Back from the Nurse. Bloody pressure fine 100/60. So dodgey head this morning not down to blood pressure. Very strange. Have booked to see midwife tomorrow afternoon. But do have protein and lucites in urine sample, so may have the beginnings of lovely thrush again, so have app with doctor first thing in the morning. So thats two trips to the clinic tomorrow. Hyperchondriac or what?!
  • ness - how old is your ds? Do you have anyone around that could keep him entertained for a couple of hours?

Fitzio - hope you are ok and taking it easy.

Even more labour vibes for Suzy!! and thank you I never thought about a focal point with the others my focal point was imagining being anywhere but in hospital!

three2be - I bypassed the dr and just booked my 1st appt with the mw - although when they know it is for your booking in they tend to make you wait a few weeks (at least at my drs - then again they are quite good at doing that and misplacing paperwork )

    Xmas
    - I agree with you - re little contact/reassurance before 20 wks although I think it is even less with baby no 2/3/etc - Although I feel like I have been seen more this time than I was with ds1 and dd2...

Appts so far look were booking in 8wks (lol we were trying this time and af was due on xmas day - rather than have that on my mind I tested a few days early and got a bfp)

12wk scan was about right then 16wks, 20wks (although I waited an hour for the consultant to say she didn't want to see me...) 24wks, 28wks and 35wks next appt is Wednesday when I will be 37 wks and then at 38 wks mw will drop off HB kit...

Also had 20wk scan and growth scan at 36 wks - which I cried with relief at - hormones :o

Kindofgilr - Before dd1 (our 1st - arrived) DH wanted 2 little people - we are now expecting no 4 :D things change!

We also bent the rules on the age that we would stop the first 3 arrived before I was 25 (which was the plan) Gemma - I was on the receiving end of a few funny looks - you learn not to care!

Best go find something to eat x

    Hey,

My first GP was rubbish - receptionist confirmed pregnancy & didn't hear anything else! Then we moved house & had to change GPs. I was 12 weeks by the time i had appointment with nurse at new surgery, then had to see GP who just gave me a phone number to call to arrange a booking appointment.
Was 13 weeks-ish at booking appointment & midwife i saw then (not my midwife) booked scan over phone while i was there. So was about 15 weeks when finally got dating scan!
I had to then get in touch with my midwife to arrange 16 week appt but luckily its all gone smoothly since then!

It was really annoying though, especially with it being my first. I didn't wanna seem like i was being too fussy or too eager but i just wanted someone to tell me something!

Aless - you had your 20 week scan yet? There's too many pages for me to catch up on so sorry if i seem really ignorant about what's been going on!

Can anyone direct me to where people were talking about what happens with showering & stuff after the birth? it sounds quite useful.

    XX

p.s. Just been looking at pics - Molly & Austin are gorgeous!!
