Gosh could do with an afternoon nap today! DP had to be in work early so got an earlier train than usual and I didn't really go back to sleep afterwards. That and work seems terribly dull right now - even though I have a lot to do! Although did work out only 48 working days til maternity leave starts :D

threetobe - I moved completely across London around week 6 just after I'd come out of hospital for monitoring for a suspected ectopic and the new GP losing my details combined with building work at the maternity unit meaning they couldn't access any admin meant I ended up really harrasing them for both the booking appointment and first scan. I did feel a bit like the paranoid first time mum but I wouldn't worry about it and since then it's all been fine.

Still not heard back from the estate agents about yesterday's offer - thinking this might be good news as not an immediate no?? Spoke to our mortgage broker this morning and the extra mortgage will be more or less the same as my monthly SMP. Mmm, think need to do a bit more saving, eek!

Hi all, once again a quick post. Sorry there has been so much going on that I can't remember it all.

Got a message to call my Drs last night, so called this morning and have been told I have anaemia (sp?) and that they have prescribed iron tablets which they have put in the post to me - I wasn't expecting that kind of service! So that will hopefully help my tiredness. I had to get some dark chocolate today in an effort to increase my iron levels (honest it is purely for medicinal purposes ;))

Does anyone else get stitch like pain whilst walking about? I am assuming it is Jr in a position that is pushing on something??? But not sure.

All the nurseries look really pretty - ours is going to be so boring in comparison. We should be getting our cot this weekend (passed down from my older brother) which will be nice to see in the nursery - as at the moment it is a room with a border, chest of drawers and a pram in! :)

When I rang up for an appointment after my BFP I had to wait until I was 8 weeks for my booking in, MW then arranged 12 week dating scan, was told to book MW for 16 weeks, then had 20 week scan (which was made at my 12 week scan) and then had 28 week appointment with MW (just had) and told to make another appointment in 6 weeks time (34 weeks) according to the schedule that was in the pack the MW provided at the beginning the MW appointments will then be every 2 weeks at 36,38,40.

HypnoNu and SS - pics are lovely, can't wait to be putting photos of Jr online (although I am quite happy to let him/her "cook" for a bit longer :))

I get that loads Karen. I just assumed it was all part and parcel of pregnancy but might mention it to the MW next time I see her. It's horrid though as it is properly painful and makes me look really unfit as I hobble along holding my side!

Bought these in Boots. Mega bargain as you also get two £1 off Huggies vouchers inside which can be used off your shopping in Tesco! :money:

Had a bit of a hissy fit this morning- I stupidly messed up the dates one of my supervisors was supposed to be covering another store :o so no-one was there to open it this morning. Hence store in question phoning me at home and shouting at me this morning. I burst into floods of tears at OH as I just felt like I couldn't manage the simplest of things- in for a roasting from my boss tomorrow too no doubt, but I'm past caring now. I was only trying to help and it was a genuine, if stupid mistake.

Feeling distinctly puffy today- hoping it's just the hot weather and nothing more sinister after my high BP last week.

SS- Gorgeous pic of your little girl- she is sooooo pretty.

    Tia- love the name.
:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator :p

Beenie can you edit my EDD please? Following the scan yesterday we are now on 16th February instead of 15th!! Not much in it so both scans must have been pretty accurate!

Also, I heard a scary story the other day. A friend had a baby last week at the same hospital I’m planning on going to and she was in labour from Friday night until the baby arriving on the Sunday afternoon. So here’s the scary part, Saturday night she was left on a ward, in labour, in the dark and her OH was made to leave as it was outside visiting hours!! He had to leave at 10pm and wasn't allowed back until 8am the following morning. He arrived back to find her on her own, on all fours on the bed screaming. I’m so worried something like this will happen to me. My OH is not great for standing up to people and I’m not sure he’d be able to do anything if they tried to kick him out and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be in any fit state to be arguing!

Anyone else heard of anything like this?

Sarah that sounds awful why wasn't she allowed to go home and labour there?

I must say i think you should be able to have your partner there at all times through labour no matter how long it takes, but i don't know what the policies etc are!

Well i've got tonsillitis today so not impressed, it's bearable though, i usually get it really really bad so i went to the walk in today for penicillin to catch it before it gets unbearable, but she said she couldn't see any pus on my tonsils so she wouldn't let me have anything til it gets unbearable :(:(

And then my £35 car repair became £100 so i've now officially got £3 to live on until they sort my tax credits out after OH leaving and me starting a new claim for income support etc... I won't hold out much hope that it's gonna be soon!! :( Had to borrow money from mother aswell, so she won't be happy if she has to wait ages for it back lol.

SJ - I think you'll find there's always someone with a horror story like that - half the time they've probably heard it from someone else and adapted it. I wouldn't pay too much attention to be honest.
My OH is a pushover but I would like to think that he would stand up and say something if I needed him to - I can be pretty damn vocal myself but am sure this will go out the window when I'm in labour.

WM - it is nice to feel appreciated. It's just a shame the people who own the organisation don't value staff enough to give them any decent benefits - if they did I wouldn't have looked elsewhere

I actually feel like this baby is trying to force it's way out - alien style!
I think he's dragging his heels up and down the inside of my womb and it's bl00dy killing me!
