Yeah on a ward with other people. I know it happened as it was my good friend's best friend! I don't know if she asked to go home or not or whether she was in too much pain. I know her OH didn't knwo what to do with himself though and didn't want to go home and be sat there knowing she was in so much pain etc and he went and sepnt the night at her mum's house.

SJ - I think you'll find there's always someone with a horror story like that - half the time they've probably heard it from someone else and adapted it. I wouldn't pay too much attention to be honest.
My OH is a pushover but I would like to think that he would stand up and say something if I needed him to - I can be pretty damn vocal myself but am sure this will go out the window when I'm in labour.

I totally agree with both points - DH is so laid back (which I make up for :o:rolleyes:) but has 3 out of 3 times TOLD the mw that the cord is wrapped around the babies neck - to be fair last time the mw was on her own... and hadn't read my notes so almost cut the cord herself *lol* DH stopped her and he did it :D

karen I had the stitch thing with dd2 all the time too - it was just one of those aches/niggles but mention it to your MW the next time you see her.

weezl - thanks for the link - better to be prepared I suppose! If they don't have enough staff to attend a hb then how are things any better at the hospital?:rolleyes::D

Better go take my toothache out on the mess in dd1's room - I really don't fancy having a wisdom tooth out just now...

Is paranoia a symptom of pregnancy? I'm getting really wound up about the what the doctor said today. I went on to my surgeries web site and it say's"[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Maternity services - antenatal and postnatal, together with midwives from the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital." Is it just me or dose that not suggest they have midwifes at the surgery like before. Plus it wasn't a doctor i recognised so if it was a locum (sp?)maybe he thinks thats the way to do it.

When i found out i was expecting with DS i had blood test in the surgery that week as i have a history of anemia both during and after pregnancy.

I give up i'm going to drive myself insane at this rate, going to go to the doctors tomorrow in person that way i can't be fobbed of on the phone.

3 - my surgery doesn't have any midwives...my MWs come from a local 'group' that I think all the GPs in the area pool from. Or something similar...

Karen- Me too! Just had a phonecall from docs surgery saying my blood tests show I need Iron tablets so could I call in to collect the perscription AND the doctor would like me to have yet another bloodtest to check other levels of iron...!!!!!!???!!

    1. Why couldn't they check for 'other' levels at the same time

    and

    2. How do I know that they actually know what there doing cos if I have another blood test it will be my 5th, I'm sick of being sent for unnessecary tests because somebody hasn't bothered to do their job properly and checked to see if the blood there testing is from a pregnant woman!! I was really happy about booking my scan now Im really !!!!ED OFF!!!!
love my little man he is amazing :j
