Ha ha. I noticed that thread before, it's quite amusing. I am wearing black maternity joggy bottoms, white ankle socks (with hole in them), a bright green Mr Lazy t-shirt which belongs to DH and I have stretched, and no bra as I can't be bothered!!! lol.

From what I understand, a VEST is the bit that goes underneath and is generally short-sleeved and has no legs (but does pop under the bottom)...totally confusing. A sleepsuit/babygro goes on top of a vest and can short or long-sleeved and has legs. Not sure where a bodysuit fits in...?!

Why can't they have more descriptive names for us new moms!

Vest and bodysuit is the same to me (no legs) and babygrow and sleepsuit have legs. Confusing is right!

I probably have about 12 vestsuits, 12 short sleeved bodysuits, 15 sleepsuits, a few velour sleepsuits which are a bit fancier, 2 pram suits and a couple of dungaree/top type neutral outfits. Most are in 0-3 months. I have a few things in newborn and a few things in 3-6 months.

It's difficult to know - I assume I will have an average sized baby, but depending on where you buy from, a newborn outfit would fit the bill, and other places it's 0-3. Got I hope I don't have a massive baby and discover that nothing fits!!!

    Sounds like plenty!

LoL. you are such a bad girl. Are they really taking it all as seriously as it sounds?

They'd have loved me yesterday in my tesco pj bottoms, and now very stretched joe browns dress.

Oh, come on... don't laugh at me, I was comfy:p

We are all going to be completely useless ladies!!

A bodysuit is the same as a vest, but has short sleeves or long sleeves (doesn't have legs). A sleepsuit is the same as a babygro. At least that's what I understand from what I have bought. I just don't know what layers with what!

Midwife appointment boring and uneventful. Have never seen the same midwife twice. Back in three weeks, but have consultant appointment before that.

Work is so boring. Really need for the nesting instinct to kick in, so i can be bothered to actually sort out the carp on and under my desk as well as the mountain of ironing at home. Can someone help me find some motivation please....

Fitzio - a vest goes under a sleepsuit/babygro?? If it's warm you don't always need the top layer of a sleepsuit/babygro.

doesn't the sleepsuit have built in feet and hands? I think they still need a vest underneath in the winter. Friends have a paper thermometer on the wall that says how many layers babys need for sleep depending on room temperature but I don't have one of them yet. Might add it to the mothercare list.

And baby grows I think are full length arms and legs but no feet, for daytime.

Vests are for under t-shirts and proper outfits arent they?

Or am I talking complete rubbish?
