wish i'd paid more attention when my sis was a baby!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
-
I agree with Tia's definitions.
Thanks for the link Aless.
Elle posted this a while ago about layers when sleeping, in case it's of interest to anyone:
15°C (60°F) - A sheet and four blankets
18°C (65°F) - A sheet and three blankets
21°C (70°F) - A sheet and two blankets
24°C (75°F) - A sheet and one blanket
27°C (80°F) - A sheet only
A good blanket to use is a baby cellular blanket that has tiny holes on it so that air can circulate around your baby. Most baby shops sell cellular blankets.
I guess everyone is the same when they start out! Maybe that's what the parent thread is for, lol. We will all graduate to big school one day!!0 -
All the old posters from here who were regulars when I used to lurk when Id only just found out I was pregnant will be like the head girls on the parenting thread! We'll be year 7 in our funny too new uniforms that have been brought for us to grow into!Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0

he..he!!! OH and I were just having the same debate last night about how the heck you dress a baby and how many layers it needs
It all seems so complicated! Were trying to work out what stuff we might need to buy..but gave up eventually....was going to google research today. So thank you everyone, you've given me some knowledge I can tell him all about tonight!

WM - 4 months off with full pay is pretty good for a small company! I get 6 months full pay, and that's the best I have come across (Civil Service). I am not starting my mat leave until my due date, but have 4 weeks annual leave which I am taking before hand. I can't wait!
Tia - are you doing anything tonight to celebrate your exam results and your last night before being a mum of 3? Can't remember if you have to fast or anything. OH treating you to a nice meal since you don't have the boys?0 -
I have a dumb question...when the baby kicks/moves, does it kinda feel like a muscle twitch but from inside your abdomen? I can't tell, they're so subtle!
Sorry Aless - meant to answer you....
It always felt like a twitching muscle to me. Like a trapped nerve that was pulsing. Can't remember whereabouts though. I didn't really get what someone would describe as "flutters". It was definitely more like a twitch! Within 2 weeks, he/she will be knocking lumps out of you.0 -

jillie1974 wrote: »harley -the baby monitors i posted the link for with mothercare have a thermometer. if you want to use the vouchers??
Thanks Jillie, but mum bought the monitor a couple of weeks ago with her tesco vouchers.
The thermometer thing I was referring to was a cardboard one which is the only place I have seen the listing as posted by Fitzio as to what layers are needed for what temperature.
I think my monitor has a temperature thing on it, and I have a couple of card ones from the bounty packs but they don't have the info on them.
will be getting some grobags soon, poss with the vouchers so maybe I'll get a card then

do you think we should remove some of the births??'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

Well, there are quite a few Jillie but they are only July. Seems a bit mean to remove them when they are less than a month old.Cross Stitch Challenge member 11 - May challenge well under way
