Popped on to hopefully hear news on Im 26 weeks today
can't believe how the time is flying!! my last week in 2nd tri before entering the final stretch (pardon the pun..not intended!!)
All this talk of 4d scans has made me think again about having one if I can afford one.
OMG Helen! When does 3rd trimester start? I was 27wks yesterday. I actually feel less pregnant today than I did, it's not hurting to get up or walk as much as it did and I definitely have more energy. I'm putting the energy down to spatone iron supplements I've been taking. I'm still falling asleep pretty early in the evening but that horrible "dog tired" feeling has gone. Might have to nip to boots to get me another box!0 -
SS - I know that BumGenius are supposed to be one of the most popular brands of one-size around. I would start here: http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/articledetails.aspx?id=28
And here's more info specifically about BG: http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/productdetails.aspx?id=112&scat=8&cat=1&catname=5%20Pocket%20and%20Stuffable%20Nappies
They're not for me, but I understand very very popular among the cloth diapering community.
Sugar - Yes Aless is right (she's all clued up!) Sorry i forgot - try nappy lady - its a questionaire and they get back to you pretty quickly. Dont know where you'd stand being in Germany though as you get local agents to contact you. I didnt go with them in the end but they did recommend BG to me.0 -
The advice service on Nappy Lady is okay - I didn't actually buy what they advised as I preferred to read all the articles (which are VERY helpul) and decide for myself. The ones they recommended were just too expensive for me so I'm going to go with a much cheaper alternative.
Hope skinty's okay and resting with her new babe right now. Labour vibes for SS and anyone else who needs them!!

Just been to look at the matlan 1/2 price sale. it wasn't very good really, hardly any baby stuff. Just a few bits and bobs but I didn't bother the only thing i got was this for £4 which i thought was cute and unisex.
I am going away next week then i have 20 wk scan when i come back so i prob won't be able to come on so i will ask now. When is the best time to say you would like to know the sex of the baby? Before or during the scan? It's just one of my freinds asked at a different hospital to me before the scan as they were walking into the room and the woman really snapped at my friend and had a go at her about it's the first thing people ask and surely she should be more concerned about the health of the baby than the sex she was really cross with her.
At my hospital it isn't mentioned at all they don't ask you and they don't tell you if you want to know ask. With my ds i asked after and although she had seen that area she refused to say as the scan was over of course incase she was wrong. This is my signature!0 -
Elasti - I always ask at the end..and tbh its the last thing i think of when i get there even though ive been itching to ask up to that point! Im just overcome with it all. I think its best to ask near the end (not when they have finish because they don't look at the sex just if everythings ok). I normally ask them to look at the legs and feet first of all as a favour as ds3 was born with talipes (club feet) so I'd like to know in advance if that was happening again then i move onto the "everything ok bit" and then the sex. Elastigirl, if you're concerned about it why not word your question like, Once we know the baby's healthy, will you be able to let us know the sex?
Editing in so I don't add an extra post:
Thanks everyone - I'm happy enough with the BG nappies and now trying to find a real-shop local retailer. I could buy them online but I'd kind of like to see them first, you know?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
Elasti - I would agree with SS - maybe it's the way the question is worded - although at my scan, I was asked if we would like to know before I even got on the bed.
Right, I'm off to do some aless style maths re: childcare vouchers - I may be a long time - or I may be back in a few mins if my head explodes0 -
lol, nms! A calculator makes it all bearabletop 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Thanks aless - Ihaven't started yet - I've been searching for this link:
http://www.childcarelink.gov.uk
It searches and lists childcare providers - nurseries/childminders/play groups etc... it's useful to get an idea of costs.0
