Thanks guys. Apparently they can accurately date anything after 8 weeks so wouldn't normally offer the 12 week scan, although I can still have the 20 week. I am definitely going to go and i will try and argue it if they try and say no. After all, I will already be there, they will have the slot available so why can't they do it?!
Suzy ditto what everyone else has said, def share your concerns with MW and I'm sure whatever decision you make will be right for you. Hope your anxiety eases soon0 -
is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad she's not on FB!!!
OH moans that I'm addicted to MSE - god help him if I got involved in Bejewelled and Farmville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Glam, Im on Facebook but won't get started on bejewelled or farmville and the rest of them either,I would never get anything done!! I have pet society but hardly bother with it cos it's a pain trying to make it work on a laptop, you need a mouse to do it properly really and Im too lazy to sit at the computer, rather lounge on the sofa with lappy resting on bumplove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Arrgghhhhhh after being insistent on disposables, Husband has just come across a website that offers one-size reusable nappies and is interested in them.
Does anyone know anything about BG nappies? The website is www.bumgenius.com.
And how many nappies would one need?Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Suzy - you're a pro so you probably know all this but would it help to adopt some of the positions that can slow things down if it feels too fast? At yoga we were shown a kneeling position where you put your forearms on the floor and rest your head on them. I think that was the one that slowed things down...MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Hi Elle :hello:
When I woke up this morning I thought OMG this is when Elle had Rhys - It's kind of spurred me on to make sure everything at work is finished and to try and get OH to realise just how quickly the next few weeks is going to pass!!!
my DH keeps asking am I ready!! cheky swine he needs to be ready as well. lol!! then he says you need to get your hospital bag sorted as well...just in case
think he's bit worried bout my BP going up and that i might have to spend some time in hospital. so i have my little suitcase ready to be packed. just need some things to go in it lol!! think as well, cos he knows Elle went at 31 weeks he thinks something may happen to us as well. but i have had words with baby and told them to stay in as mummy does not need any stress and their things havent all turned up yet. lol!!um, gay spray?!!
Well, I'm in bed now just waiting for OH to finish in bathroom - for some reason I don't feel tired but I wanted to get up really early tomorrow but think it could take me awhile to get off to sleep!
I'm all greased up with Bio Oil - am trying to make sure I remember to do boobie scars but I keep forgetting
Can't believe how quiet it has been - NMS, EA, Harley and Jillie, you all seemed to disppear at the same time
sorry Glam, my 'puter crashed (we really need a new one) and i decided to watch BB instead of coming back on here
GLAM. EA good luck with your scans today.!!
Glam baby will be massive!! we couldnt get a photo cos she said we would get head or bottom half so we left it. next growth scan is 3 weeks!!

SS - I know that BumGenius are supposed to be one of the most popular brands of one-size around. I would start here: http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/articledetails.aspx?id=28
And here's more info specifically about BG: http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/public/productdetails.aspx?id=112&scat=8&cat=1&catname=5%20Pocket%20and%20Stuffable%20Nappies

SJ - just insist you want the nuchal measurements so you HAVE to have a 12 week scan. Them telling you to cancel is b*ll and you are entitled to that scan. Just phone the hospital to "confirm" the appt and I doubt anyone will be the wiser.
Yes, I thought that they did a nuchal fold test too or is that only some hospitals?I had an early scan at 11.5 wks and then my "12 wk" one at a little over 13wks no questions asked or anything. That just seems a bit unfair as usually an early scan is surrounded by worry and quite a bit of terror so you look forward more to the 12wk one. Yes I would still go too, if they've asked you to cancel it, at least that implies that they aren't going to cancel it themselves so hopefully the appointment still stands.
Last day in work wasn't too bad and a few nice people bought me chocs and flowers and one guy even brought a bag with baby grows and johnsons soap which was lovely. Only prob now is I'm eating chocs and its only 10.30 and I'm starting to feel sick. It will be so strange being here to pick my dd up from school though!
I'm dying to know how skinty and is doing!
Whoever it was (I think it was Suzy) who mentioned that length of labour can vary depending on the father has given me a bit of hope as I was 31 hrs with dd so I'm hoping it'll be much shorter this time although I'm sure it can just as easily go the other way and be much longer!:eek:0 -
Popped on to hopefully hear news on Skinty, hope she and bubs r ok,
Glam and EA- enjoy your scans today
Suzi- I think it's only natural for you to have doubts, these hormones of ours do wicked things don't they. Talk it over with midwife like the others have said. Have a dodgy hug too :grouphug: xx
Im 26 weeks todaycan't believe how the time is flying!! my last week in 2nd tri before entering the final stretch (pardon the pun..not intended!!)
All this talk of 4d scans has made me think again about having one if I can afford one.
Right I must go get showered and dressed,Im being so lazy today, back at work next week so can't get used to this! xxlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
Thanks Lou.
SJ - I read that dating scans are accurate up until 12 weeks as all babies grow the same size up until then. I presume they are thinking of saving costs as you've had the scan at 8 weeks already anything else is a waste of money and time. In their eyes not mine.
Sugar- All i know is that i didnt like the colour of them if im thinking of the right ones. Think they were green and bright colours in the magazines. I choose Bambinio mio birth to potty as i preferred the patterns/ colours - Crazy i know!
Can remember how many you get in the pack but i can look later if you want too? Oh is upstairs asleep so i cant look now. HTH slightly.
ML - Good thinking - I'll ask about that tomorrow. For me the pains just come immediately then one push and they are out but im willing to try anything if im in that position..0 -
right need to go and get dressed to go to mw
chat later hopefully!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0
