The Viva La Diva is a catalogue account which I had been paying then they changed the terms without notifying me saying that i was not meeting "our agreement". I have sent off the letter they sent to me confirming the "agreed repayments" and a copy of my bank statements showing that I had kept to the agreement. When they starting rattling on the charges, I stopped paying and sent my case to the Ombudsman :0

Santander is a current account which had an overdrawn balance of £188 which we sent them a cheque for to close the account. They tried to say there were £10 pending charges, therefore i sent an accompanying letter with the cheque stating that if they cashed this cheque for the outstanding balance they agreed to waive the pending £10 charges. If this was not agreeable to return my cheque. They cashed the cheque then added the charge which made us overdrawn and then continue to charge an overdrawn daily charge (p*ssed off.com). As i clearly set out the terms for cashing the cheque, I believe that these charges should not be applied. I have written them a letter supplying my "evidence" asking for a "final response" so I can refer this to the Ombudsman.

Tixy (or anyone) any views of my proposed actions with these? I feel a bit rusty and would love an opinion:rotfl::rotfl:

Doh! Just broke my NSD for a 69p (reduced for end of day) apple pie to give the family desert, seeing as we sacrificed a family cinema trip to save money ;)

Aiming for another NSD today, my plan of action is as follows:

    1. Write all my ebay descriptions in advance for listing my humungous mountain of items!
    2. Make dinner from the store cupboard
    3. Count my penny jar and use the lovely machine at RBS to pay it into my account
    4. Go for my free eye test ;)
    5. A couple of my infamous letters to pen............
    6. Download stuff to keep from our old laptop onto a pen drive so I can give it to the cheap computer fix it man on Sunday :D
    7. Check out all my old survey sites to restart my invites coming as I haven't completed one in forever.....

Just had a little lift, shortly followed by a kick in the teeth. Turns out my Littlewoods debt isn't £1700 (must have been an old statement sitting with the current pile) its now £1315.71. The kick in the teeth was that they have charged me £12 default for late payments. I set up a standing order for this every 28 days so this wouldn't happen:mad:. I will be phoning them shortly

For those of you used to my witty letter writing, you will be disappointed to read the begging pleading tone of my email to Littlewoods.....

    Dear Sirs,

I write to you with reference to my account number 1*******. Following a period of financial difficulty, Littlewoods agreed for my outstanding balance to be spread over 3 years at 0% interest for the agreed sum of £30.00 per month. This arrangement made on 21st February, meant that I agreed to pay £30 every 28 days and I set up a standing order with my bank to make said payments as promised. You will note that since then my payments have been received every 28 days by standing order, as I am unable to arrange a direct debit on an account which has arrears.

I work away from home and by fluke was home when my statement arrived this morning. With disappointment I note a £12 charge incurred, and spoke to one of your operators Dawn regarding my concern. Dawn notes that I have received a total of 4 x £12 charges since the arrangement started. She also pointed out to me that because the payments should have been 28 days commencing by the due date on the statement and not from the date of our agreement, this was where the difficulty lay.

I am writing to appeal these 4 charges, as I have made my payments in good faith every 28 days. I have now amended the date of my standing order 5 days earlier than originally as I consistently seem to have been 4 days late resulting in the charges. This agreement is in place to help me repay my debt in full to Littlewoods over a 3 year period, by incurring these charges I will not achieve this. I would respectfully request that these charges are removed, as it was not made clear to me when the arrangement commenced that the date I had initially set my payments for was incorrect. Now that I have made changes to my standing order I have ensured that this situation will not be repeated, and I would be grateful if you would consider my individual circumstances on this occasion and agree to remove these charges totalling £48.

I look forward to your urgent response.
