Productive day indeed, £1009.90 Viva La Diva catalogue account (stupid I know). Have just negotiated a settlement figure of £656.44 to be made over 12 weekly payments from 30/7/11 at £54.71 per week. Yay!LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Payments have been set up x 12 for the Viva La Diva account I will officially be rid this debt by 14th October 2011. One question? Given that they have agreed a reduced settlement on this account, I assume I will have to send them the "full and final - will not be pursued for remaining balance etc" letter?:think:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Replying to my own thoughts:p
I arranged this via their online system not via telephone - printed off the schedule and it refers to it as a reduced settlement - doesn't say partial settlement. Should I still send the F&F letter?:eek:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Just spoke to BCW as I couldn't leave a job half done
I have to call BCW once my final payment on 14th October 2011 has been made, and request a letter of satisfaction. This will confirm that there is no outstanding balance due on the account, and that my credit file has been marked as satisfied. Sounds legitimate enough?LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Also a job has come up in Melrose (Scotland but only just!) its 34.5 hours per week 6 month contract. Do I go for it?
In favour of London : unlimited overtime therefore can make extra to pay off debts quicker
In favour of Scotland : home with my family every night
Against London : Away from family, £460 rent and bills every month plus the cost of flights
Against Scotland : Very little available in the way of overtime - still travelling over an hour a day and the expense of fuel associated with that.
Anyone fancy playing the Devils Advocaate?LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Hey gargrave, thought I'd just say hi and just say you're doing brilliantly. Inspiring. Keep it upDebt at worst: £33000 (Feb 2011). Present debt: £25610 (Apr 2012)

Letter off to Santander asking for a final response so I can refer my case to the FO. They are chasing me for £375 compiled entirely of charges which they continue to add. This is despite a letter dated 20th November 2010, enclosing a cheque for the actual outstanding debt on the account stating the following:
"Please find enclosed a cheque for the amount of £130.40. This is the amount my account is overdrawn, and further to my recent complaint i had requested already that the account be closed.
The fact that the account has not been put on hold during the complaint process, means that you have continued to accrue charges to the account totalling £125. I dispute these charges as I feel that I made clear my request for the account to be closed. I am happy to repay the overdrawn amount, however I refuse to pay for the unnecessary charges accrued.
Should you accept the cheque for £130.40, it is strictly on the basis that you agree to close the account instantly, and that the account has been satisfied in full and will not pursue me for further amounts. If you are unwilling to proceed on this basis then please return the cheque to me, and i will pursue a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service regarding this matter."
Needless to say the bandits cashed the cheque and continue piling on the charges. I have written them a letter pointing out the obvious and asking for a final response. I will of course keep you postedLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
