Full steam ahead! Good work indeed. On the job front I'd go for Scotland, you can't beat family time, and your DS will benefit so much more from having you home than having the debts cleared quicker. Just my thoughts!
    Best of luck, Saz xxx

Thanks Saz, my heart says Scotland but its not even a full-time post and its temporary for 6 months. I am scared to go for it, then in 6 months i'm out of work and in the sh*t!:(

Sorry for the influx of posts today but I have been super productive, and have a compulsion to keep you up to date today ;)

Also, just revisited all the survey sites i've been ignoring for a year. Turns out Global Testmarket I have £25 to go until I receive a payout.

My Survey I am only 500 points away from a £25 M&S voucher which will be used for Xmas!

Valued Opinions I am £8.25 in credit so only £1.75 to go for a voucher ;)

Waiting for a response from Littlewoods today re: the charges of £48. If these are removed it would take my Littlewoods debt under £1300 :D.

If I don't get any joy, I do recall having a personal contact in the Chief Executive's office who was very helpful last time!!!!

As its not yet raining in Scotland, I'm off to try to pop some washing out in the garden to dry, wash the dishes and wait for the postman:eek:

Feeling rather smug, sun is shining washing is out and dishes are done. DS is still snoring away so won't start the hoovering yet!

    Plans for today:

Taking DS to see Transformers courtesy of Clubcard Cineworld vouchers ;)
Going to Co-op to get cinema sweets (2 for £2.50):money:
Try to make appt for my FREE eye test:cool:
Dinner from the shopping I already have (looks delicious!)
Wait for Littlewoods email re: charges
Letter to Inland Revenue for DH (he has been given a van and fuel card for work now :j- so he needs to stop claiming tax relief of work mileage now)

Sort out Council Tax arrears - now my only oustanding worry:o

    Wish me luck xxj

Wow Gargrave - you have been making progress over the last couple of days.

Well done on the F&F, hope you manage to sort the littlewoods charges - I thought the letter was probably the right tone for the circumtances.
Great news on the job offer but definitely a tough decision. If it was a permanent decision I think new job in Scotland would be the way to go for sure. The benefit of being at home I would think would outweigh the overtime for paying off the debts, so even if your debt repayment slowed down a bit you've already more than halved it and are definitely on top of things.
And I guess you must need to do a lot of overtime to pay the rent/flight costs and then still earn extra on top of that? And whilst working crazy long hours in the short term is do-able I do worry that you will work yourself too hard - I don't think anyone can work such long hours long term.

Obviously the fact this job is temporary is a worry though - have you spoken to them about what the chances are that it could become permanent? or that they might have another position? If you take it and then it does finish what do you think the chances are that you could get another job where you are now is? is there always lots of overtime because they are short-staffed and struggle to recruit? if so then that might mean it should be pretty likely that you would be able to apply for another job there if the scotland one doesn't work out? but in the meantime you'd have had 6months of being at home with the family?

Toughie for sure, but I think you'll make the right decision knowing you. I guess there is nothing to lose by applying for it and see if you get it and then make a final decision?

    Have fun at the cinema!

    Hi all!

Went to Tesco to buy some treats for the cinema tonight so we are sorted! An officially low cost cinema trip :D

Husband is off doing a little "cash job" after work - not mega money but probably £30-40 :)

Hubby also has scrap cable probably to the value of £200 to strip waiting in the garage - a little job for the weekend ;)

We have a family portrait being taken tomorrow by a fantastic Glasgow photographer thanks to Groupon - should have cost £225 but we paid £25 including a 10 x 8 print and 8 passport pictures. After that hubby is to strip the scrap. Should have mentioned we are converting our loft to make space for DS to play as he only has a boxroom. On the plus side we have managed to have a custom-made staircase and a velux window bought and installed purely on recycled cash (selling old stuff on ebay!). Hubby has managed to get the insultation sheeting from work when it was left over - we had to buy the chipboard flooring though. Still have some flooring to get, and pay the joiner to move the remainder of the joists and help build some under eaves storage.

The plan with the scrap money is to see if there is enough to pay the joiner. I'd love to finish converting the loft and find that it has not cost us a penny - all money for old rope!!!! :D
