Hi to still-in-debt - bet you are really proud of your daughter - congrats! I received an email to say if I hadn't heard within 6 weeks of closing date I have been unsuccessful so hoping to hear something in the next 14 days

Morning all :hello:
Well I wasn't on over the weekend because I was working my butt off
Just opened Saturday's and this mornings post so here goes
HM R&C - reminder for £100 fine for OH self assessment late return - we have appealed this in that there were problems submitting the return online, we then phoned the helpline and asked for a hard copy of the return to be sent out (its not the basic return, my OH gets to claim tax relief on his mileage as he works at different sites throughout the year and doesn't receive mileage allowance from his employer - you can't download the actual additional sheet we need). We are still waiting on this hard copy and have written to them on 3 occasions:mad:. Will do yet another letter.
Received what I believe is an unenforceable CCA response form AA Visa - will post it on the other thread for Rog to cast his eye over.:D
My statement from one of my mail order accounts ignoring my letter (shocker ) and stating that my minimum payment is not £200+. Will do yet another letter.
An "update" from Lowell re: Shop Direct - basically explaining that they are yet to receive the CCA, and that when they do receive it full payment will be demanded. I hope they are replanting trees as they are going to kill the planet at this rate. Never mind.
Letter from Shop Direct re: Littlewoods. I've copied it word for word for pure entertainment below:;)
"Further to your letter of 3rd August 2009 concerning the administration charge applied and the correspondence you have received on your Littlewoods account.
I note your comments in that you are disputing a £12.00 administration charge applied to your account on 28th July 2009, as you state the company is aware of your financial difficulties and will not accept your offer of payment.
I must make you aware that the administration charges will be applied to the account should you fail to make the correct minimum payment on time. This is stated in the "Your Account" section in the terms and conditions at the back of your book.
However, in view of your circumstances and as a gesture of goodwill, I have refunded the charge to your account. This will be confirmed on statement 47, dated 5th September 2009.
If you are experiencing financial difficulties, may I suggest you seek advice from the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS). Once they are dealing with your financies and you provide a financial statement, we can assess your offer of payment and hold all administration and interest charges being applied to your account until the debt is clear or until you are in a better position financially.
You can contact CCCS on 0800 138 1111. Alternatively you can browse their website at www.cccs.org.uk.
With regards to the correspondence you have received stating "there is information regarding recent activity on the account which we would like to discuss", these letters are issued as an incentive letter to prompt you to contact ourselves regarding your account.
The letters are issued in relation to any correspndence that you have sent regarding your account, to be discussed via telephone. Whilst I appreciate your comments requesting for all matters to be discussed via mailings, as a business point of view, it is less time consuming and more efficient if the matter can be addressed via telephone.
In this instance, the letter was issued regarding the offer of payment you have made and to discuss your payment options.
I can confirm that this letter concludes our investigations into your complaint. I hope our explanation meets with your satisfaction. However, if this is not the case, you can refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman blah blah blah."
Looks like I'll be referring the matter to the FO then:rolleyes:
Finally, yet another letter from HBOS re: £560 offer re: hardship.
They sent us an acceptance form with the original offer - I wrote a letter stating that we would accept the offer as partial payment etc etc. They wrote back stating they were unable to process this without a signed acceptance form. They sent another copy - I amended it to state "partial" settlement. Today they have sent me the following.
"Thank you for sending in your acceptance form regarding your bank fees.
However, we are unable to accept it as it has been amended. Please be aware that the form is in conjunction with our letter sent 31 July 2009 where it states that
"To ensure you are not disadvantaged by accepting this offer prior to the outcome of the court proceedings, we can assure you we have registered and stored details of your complaint. Once the legal proceedings between the OFT and the banks finish, we will review your complaint again, as quickly as possible, to ensure this offer reflects the court's findings".
As the acceptance form that we received from you has been amended by you, we will require a signed, unchanged copy of the attached acceptance form".
I am wary because the acceptance form reads "I confirm that I accept a total amount of £560 in settlement of my unarranged overdraft bank fees complaint". I am wary of the word "total". Think I will check out the bank charges reclaim thread to see if anyone has had similar concerns.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Busy day Gargrave!
Sounds like you're doing well tackling it all though.
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -
Morning Gargrave - hope the shifts weren't too hateful?
You need to keep a journal or something - I can't believe that your posts get so huge after a whole two days off0 -

Ooh just received a phone call from Gemma at Littlewoods Chief Exec office. Gemma tells me they are missing some of my letters so I have her email address to email the "missing" letters over.
Gemma tells me they "need" correspondence from CCCS and/or National Debtline, I have explained that I have taken advice from both companies by telephone to formulate a realistic budget and to calculate my reduced payments. They have my case references for both organisations
Will email this over just now and let you know if I hear back. Pointed out that the letter from their complaints team basically refuses to correspond in writing - Gemma is going to contact them regarding this :rolleyes:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
