    Don't do anything hasty!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Just sending off my reply to Barclaycard from yesterday recorded delivery. Need to enrol DS in his swimming lessons which are due tonight (11.40 for 8 weeks :D), and buy birthday card for my mother-in-law so it won't be a NSD for me:mad:.

Let us know what little gems the postie brings you:D

£11.40 for 8 weeks. Gosh that's cheap my eledest went to them last year and it was £38 for 11 weeks. Luckily he took to swimming well and I didn't put in him any further than the 4th class as they went on to learn more life saving skills. So long as he can swim I'm happy.

    Morning
Its an odd letter -I think the short term formal is meant to be a bit like a 'payment holiday' type agreement except its an interest holiday. And because its a formal short term change to your agreement it means you haven't defaulted so they won't put a default on your credit record. (I guess for some people who are only have temporary problems (say someobe only earning SMP for 6months) then that would be really useful).

The thing is that for you the sooner they default it the sooner they may sell the debt on - and it does look like its going to be easier to negotiate with a DCA on this one!

Hmmm - The reply could be tricky. You almost want to say, my problems are long term and I accept that this may mean you need to register a default. As you aware from my previous correspondance I have already had independant advice on my situation from (CCCS?) I am dissapointed that you will not agree to freeze my interest when I have followed the advice of CCCS. My financial situation remains unchanged and my repayment offer remains the same. In view of the record low in the bank of england base rate perhaps you would consider a lowering the interest rate on this account to reflect this. Blah blah blah

You seem very good at writing letters Gar- I'm sure you'll get it right.

    Good luck

    Thanks Tixy,

I agree this is a tricky one - will have a look at the templates available and cobble something together to reflect your comments.

A default makes no difference to me - I don't ever want credit again!:o

Thanks again - I wish they would just get rid of me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I get them half price because I hold a "passport" card which gives concessions to those receiving benefit. I get it because I am a full-time student (for the next 3 weeks:p).

Thought is was important and that I may as well take advantage while I receive this discount:j

Well my letter writing is complete for the day. Wrote to BCW re: the balance of our old CTax arrears account. They sent a current balance, so I've written back to them requesting the opening balance of the account when it was passed to them and a statement showing all payments made to bring the balance to the current amount. We think actually the balance they have given us isn't much less than the original amount - so will wait to see what they say.

Also sending my stinky reply (above) to Barclaycard - recorded delivery of course.:D

Sent off a reply to AA VISA basically saying your letter is a load of garble, could you please write back telling me what the options are making specific reference to our offer of payment etc. Will see what I get back - threw in that old line about "treating customers fairly" as I know banks are having a massive push on this just now.:D

Got some phone calls and emails to do this afternoon, but need to pop out now to get M-I-L's birthday card, books DS swimming lessons and get some potatoes for the dinner. A domestic goddess' work is never done:D

Well just an update on my day.

I took some of DS Nintendo DS games to Game to trade in for cash and got £30. That paid for swimming lessons which are at 6pm tonight for 8 weeks (thought is was £11 turned out it was £14.05 still good value I thought). It also paid for my recorded delivery letter, MIL's birthday card and gift bag, my potatoes from Morrisons and put diesel in the car. So unexpectedly today HAS been a NSD of sorts!

Nothing much else on, DS just home from school so about to get him organised, hoover and do the dishes then off to swimming :)

  • Good spends for today:j.

How many games did you take to trade in? Eldest took X-Box games y'day to Game and they offered him £2.00 for one of them:eek:. I refused to let him do a trade in for that price.

We took 4 DS games although some are quite recent - Transformers and Ben 10 Alien Force. The other 2 were older and we got £2 for those. We managed to get him a "memory card" with all his games "downloaded" so we are getting rid of his games as we download them :)

    Good morning all:hello:

I'm having a lovely day so far. Have just welcomed the postman with open arms bighug.gif(what a change from a few months ago, eh?!), and he rewarded me with lots of goodies and not one piece of "bad" mail. I'm a very happy bunny.

    So where to start?

Well DS loved his swimming lessons last night, and actually behaved this morning when getting dressed for school. Everyone's a winner!:D

Trying to save the best for last - here is my mail.morning.gif

Letter from HBOS - was quaking in my boots in case it was an enforceable CCA for OH VISA:eek: - then noticed it was addressed to me:D! Its actually my SAR response. There are 13 charges all at £12, however I am still going to lodge a claim as I've read some have been successful in getting these refunded.;)

Then a surprising letter from nasty Stirling Park re: my parking fine. Seems my letter to the MP has worked - they sent me this::D

"We refer to your recent communication and now write to confirm we have received instructions from our cients, Glasgow City Council, to suspend recovery action on the undernoted account until further notice.

Upon receipt of further instructions we shall revert back to you".

Hope I get somewhere with this, as it really annoyed me that I was penalised for them ignoring me .

I can't decide which of these 2 are my favourite so they aren't in preferential order :D

Lowell (for Shop Direct Choice account) -

"We thank you for your recent letter and apologise for the delay in replying.

We have noted your comments and can advise you that, under the terms set out by the The Consumer Credit Act, a creditor has an initial twelve days to provide the documentation requested. After this time limit has passed your account is placed on hold and no collection activities will take place until such time as the requested documentation has been provided.

You will, however, continue to get updates from us with regards to your request. We hope that the above meets with your approval."

It does meet with my approval - I'm pretty sure they don't have one. This is our second biggest creditor, and I'd love to make a F&F so best get saving.:D

HBOS - WAS quaking in my boots this time as it WAS addressed to OH.

Going to put this is a separate post as this one is massive and I'm frightened it will all disappear!
