Well awaiting details of the job myself actually. My husband is an electrician, and the company he is with were "laying off" staff weekly. This meant they weren't "paid off" as such, they would just say Wednesday lunch time, finish up today you are laid off for a week (unpaid of course). The uncertainty is dreadful, if they paid him off they would need to pay redundancy so they are just trying to sicken the work force into jacking it in themselves.
However, one of their project managers was Alan's tradesman when he was an apprentice and he has recently left and been offered a job with one of Belfasts biggest electrical companies. They are opening an office in Glasgow and want this guy to run the operation. The first guy he called was Alan and he would be back to his "chargehand" role running jobs etc. He is waiting to hear the finer details e.g. overtime. Electricians get paid a pretty standard rate so salary would be unchanged. However, we don't know yet if he would get a van, diesel card etc. Need to hear more, waiting for more information this afternoon.
Also husband has had 2 phone calls for homers today. One is a kitchen rewire (around £300 depending on size), the other an outside light (around £40 but around the corner and an "easy" job apparently). So this should be good. Really nervous, but trust him to make the right decision.
I'm on nightshift tonight and I'm supposed to be sleeping but I just can't get this out of my head:mad:. Never mind, at least my wireless connection is sorted now and I no longer have to sit in the cupboardLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Well sounds promising at least - sounds better than waiting around hoping that you are not going to be one of the ones chosen for the 'week off' - are they actually allowed to do that? Hopefully it will give him more job security and maybe you will be a little better off if they throw in various extras? Fingers crossed. Oh and glad you got your internet connection sorted - any news on the missing files yet?

Anyway, the post.
Well I had to open 3 days post today because I've been working and OH leaves the letter opening to me?!
Hooray, I have in black and white an acceptance of my proposed payments from the lovely Gemma at Shop Direct :j. Should frame it but it doesn't match my decor.
Received a further final demand from Stirling Park - will pass this onto my trusty MP.
Received a statement from Next Directory - total debt reduced from £1233.05 to £1197.45:j. No further charges or interest, and written confirmation at the top of the statement that reduced payment agreement in place. I love NEXT.
Talking of Next, I replied to the CCA they produced stating it was unenforceable because it was illegible. They wrote today with another illegible copy stating they were sorry I haven't received the one they sent. Need to write them a letter. I should have stopped paying Next as the account would formally be in dispute now (have sent dispute letter), however I have continued to make payments hoping they would look favourably on a F&F in around 6 months.:D
Letter from HBOS VISA stating we have missed a payment . The account was put into dispute - wish I knew when but of course I lost the files. What a wally. Will require to send a further letter, advising them of same.
Statement from Barclaycard - with added charges. The account was put into dispute over 10 days ago (and for some reason I have kept a hard copy of this letter). Will be writing to this horrid mob today also.
Statement from HBOS Visa - again with added charges. Also in dispute as mentioned above.
Letter from Shop Direct with copy of "CCA". Strange I've had this catalogue for years and they have produced an agreement dated 3/11/08?! Definately something wrong here, will pray on the good nature of Rog2 for help with this one. I believe I took an item over 52 weeks interest free around this time and received a separate credit agreement for this item to sign. Think this refers to that and not the account as such.

Lol. Your detailed analysis of the post is so funny. Never has the post received such scrutiny.
My post is never that exciting (thankfully) and doesn't usually result in me running off to write another reply/complaint.
