Barclaycard letter done - have to admit I've been able to bluff it after losing my files as my diary has been really useful for picking out dates when letters were sent etc.

gargrave50 wrote: »Well awaiting details of the job myself actually. My husband is an electrician, and the company he is with were "laying off" staff weekly. This meant they weren't "paid off" as such, they would just say Wednesday lunch time, finish up today you are laid off for a week (unpaid of course). The uncertainty is dreadful, if they paid him off they would need to pay redundancy so they are just trying to sicken the work force into jacking it in themselves.
However, one of their project managers was Alan's tradesman when he was an apprentice and he has recently left and been offered a job with one of Belfasts biggest electrical companies. They are opening an office in Glasgow and want this guy to run the operation. The first guy he called was Alan and he would be back to his "chargehand" role running jobs etc. He is waiting to hear the finer details e.g. overtime. Electricians get paid a pretty standard rate so salary would be unchanged. However, we don't know yet if he would get a van, diesel card etc. Need to hear more, waiting for more information this afternoon.
Also husband has had 2 phone calls for homers today. One is a kitchen rewire (around £300 depending on size), the other an outside light (around £40 but around the corner and an "easy" job apparently). So this should be good. Really nervous, but trust him to make the right decision.
I'm on nightshift tonight and I'm supposed to be sleeping but I just can't get this out of my head:mad:. Never mind, at least my wireless connection is sorted now and I no longer have to sit in the cupboard
Sounds good Gar. Who's the electrical company? Just being nosey:p and of course quite near to me.
Glad you got your connection fixed I couldn't be without mine:D0 -
You've been a bit busy today. Or maybe I'm just playing catch up:rotfl:0

Glad to see you are back on track and on top of the post. Hopefully the new job will be more stable - it's horrid having to wait and see.

Thanks MM, back on track. Just find it really hard to find time for it all when I am doing 12.5 hour shifts back to back. I'm off now until Monday, so will see what the weekend brings. Today we only got a letter from Barclaycard saying "we have fulfilled our obligations, no more correspondence etc". Think I'll formulate a little response to ruffle their feathers.;)LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
