How is February panning out for you, seaxwyn?

Feb is not panning out too well unfortunately. I get paid from my job this Friday thank goodness, but by then I will be £265 overdrawn on my NatWest account, as well as up to my limit on my A&L account. And OH is over his overdraft limit too. Feb hasn't seen any 'extra' expenses, so it just underlines that we can't live on my earnings. Still not solvent!

Luckily I have done loads of freelance work and will get £1000 from that eventually. However March has some expenses, such as the MOT and taxing the car, should it pass which is not guaranteed, plus a £278 gas bill and various other expenses.

OH's efforts to find work have been as pathetic as ever. He has applied for a driving job, which is just 3 afternoons a week, but we heard that over 80 people have applied for it and somehow I doubt he will beat 79 other people. Thanks to some nagging for me he finally rang up to enquire abut a teaching course, which is one evening a week and leads to a certificate. He has a written test for that tomorrow. If he gets in, its £120 and while I don't mind paying that if it leads to work, I will resent it if he doesn't make any effort to get a job once qualified.

Anyway, no use moaning on about him. Luckily I have an editing job to do tonight, which is £75 if I do it by tomorrow.

Apart from money, things are OK. Two of my 'coloured buckets' (thanks kissjenn!) are running and writing, and both of those have got off to a good start. I have entered some races in May and June to give me a training goal and am loving running again. And I joined a writing group and so things are looking promising there.

Well, I am glad that the buckets are working - presumably you are not getting any hassle with the hamstring?

Sorry that Feb has not been great......here's to a better March for all of us! Fingers crossed for OH - are the anti-depressants making any difference at all on a noticable level?

The hamstring isn't completely better - I can still feel it niggling, but it isn't getting worse and doesn't seem to stop me running. I'm being careful to build up slowly.

I don't know about the anti-depressants. Sometimes he seems a bit more energised, other times not. I think a job or a course could make a big difference, just being around people on a regular basis.

But I know my problems are TINY compared to yours so I will not whinge on! I hope you are bearing up yourself.

No-ones problems are any bigger or smaller than anyone else's really - whatever we are faced with, is having an impact on the way we feel, and the way we manage, and that can't be managed in terms of size, if that makes sense!

I am glad that you are taking it steady with the hamstring - not too much sprinting, now!

And yes, I think you are right - a job would make the difference, to OH. Again, I wish that there was something I could do to help!

Me too, Seaxwyn, wish there was something I could do. I worry about me, but at least there *is* just me, I don't have an OH to worry about, and I don't have dependent children.... hope the editing tonight goes well..

I too feel your pain and wish that there was something that I could do for you.
You have to work so hard at it all the time without his back up and are amazing.Im glad that youve got your editing work to help out.

You do all do lots to help! Encouragement, inspiration, telling unpleasant truths when needed - I really value all the help I get from this site.
