Happy New Year, Seaxwyn. I hope 2010 brings you and yours everything that you wish for and that life runs smoothly for you all!

My house too is reasonably tidy - mind you, I have been working at it all week......and it is still only "reasonably" tidy :o Still, that is a significant improvement on its usual state!

Happy New Year to you, too, Hypno! I hope it will be a good one for you.

But sadly I don't have a tidy house. I spent far too long on other jobs.

    It's 2010! Hooray!

My debt today is £241.96 MORE than it was on 1 January 2009. But never mind! This year it WILL go down. I have enough money in my current account to pay my tax bill so this will be the first January ever when I don't have to borrow.

Since starting on MSE three years ago I have reduced my debt by about £17,500 BUT that has been entirely due to loan payments. The amount on credit cards has actually increased by £3k. So my focus now is on never paying for anything on a credit card ever again.

Anyway enough boring money talk. I am full of optimism for the year ahead and all my coloured buckets.

Happy New Year! Loving the positive approach. The debt is still coming down.
You have the money for the tax bill. We both have a similar amount and we CAN beat it together.

And that on its own is a very positive statement, and one that I am sure is very welcome for you given the tax problems of years gone by.

    Happy 2010 :T

Isn't this the main thing? You're debt may have gone up, but you are now saving for tax, which you weren't always doing before! Good luck with 2010

Fantastic news that you have enough for the tax bill.
You also have a proper wage now so should be able to make headway with the debt now without worrying about the tax.
