    Hello Hypno! Same to you!

Poor OH, to add to his woes he has just heard that the YMCA has failed to pay him for his part-time driving job this month. It was only £100 odd quid, but still a kick in the teeth that he didn't need.

So, if things come in threes.......lost forms, broken ribs, and missing pay......he should be all out of bad luck and getting ready to welcome in all the good fortune that is due!

When filling in the third form, OH realised why the others had gone astray - nowhere on the six pages was there a space for your name, address, or national insurance number! Loads of questions about earnings, employers, etc but nothing to identify the filler of the form. Incredible!

He really has had an awful lot of bad luck, and is feeling demoralised and defeated unfortunately. And now with the broken ribs I can't nag him or blame him for his failings. I really hope that he can see the new year as a new beginning. He turns 60 on 4 January, which must be sobering.

After congratulating myself on spending very little on Christmas presents, I spent £166 in Sainsbury's yesterday. That included £58 on a turkey! I didn't even notice the price till it went through the checkout. Also six bottles of wine. I'm doing Christmas lunch for 14 people so I suppose £166 isn't so outrageous there was several days worth of regular food as well. Now I hope everyone can make it through the snow.

Hi lucielle, other people are doing various bits and I am doing the turkey, gravy, sausages, stuffing etc.

A Christmas miracle - the job centre has found OH's missing forms! So I hope he will soon be a fully fledged claimant. And I have received my last freelance paycheque, a nice large one this month which will cover next month's tax bill and train ticket comfortably. I am quite nervous about only getting one paycheque a month from now on!

I'm expecting my turkey to be about £70.......but it is only once a year, and it will be feeding us until about February, so I reckon it will be worth it!

Been going through a tough time and really have not had the chance to read your thread, but I just wanted to pop on and say hello, and to give you all my best wishes for 2010.
I hope that I will find the time to catch up with you, and to carry on to follow through with the new year.
