a little further forward perhaps... have had some painful conversations with OH who, as predicted, is completely broken and quite paranoid. I can't see a good way out of this.

Moneywise... I have several big bills and no way of paying them apart from borrowing, so expect to end the month with a big overdraft or credit card bill or both.

I haven't bought any Christmas presents yet. We got DS something from freecycle, but nothing for the 3 girls. I wish Christmas would just go away this year. With my dad so ill and OH in a bad place, I just can't face doing the jolly family festive thing.

The painful stuff is all part of the process. It has got to be done, and if you didn't do it now, you would only be putting off the inevitable. You cannot be responsible for someone else's responses. Harsh, but true.

Christmas at times like this is not fun, and I remember my last Christmas with XOH was absolutely pants as the expectation from everyone to be in a good mood was just too much for me, but we survived, we got it out of the way, we moved on, and although I can't say that I get amazingly excited from October about the festivities, I can honestly say that I am settling down to it again.

Moneywise - well, ups and downs are the order of our lives.....the over all picture is still in your favour - look at how much you have reduced the debt by since you have been here. Don't fret about another temporary diversion.

There is never a good time to have these conversations. If you had left them till after xmas, then it would have been how could you have pretended to be happy all through xmas. Now it is you have ruined xmas why did you have to tell me now?

I am sorry but he must be willfully blind if he can't see just how unhappy and stressed you have been the last few years.

I am sorry that you have big bills to pay, pity OH can't take up some of the slack there... even if only by ebay selling...

    Hi Seax
Just taking a moment to wish you and yours as good a Christmas as it can be.

And also that YOU are able to move forward next year. Whether OH comes with you is up to him really isn't it?
    Hugs

Thanks Chev. I hope everyone had a merry xmas. Mine was OK, big family get togethers on xmas day and boxing day, and the visits continue with OH's daughter coming today and brother tomorrow. Kids v happy with their mostly free presents (thanks Freecycle!) I got a good supply of shower gel, moisturiser, etc, and a cash book from DD1, who knows me well

I expect to start 2012 with debt around £19,300. The financial future is uncertain, as I only have two months work guaranteed. I am going to have to get super-organised to bring in work, do it, and discharge all my other responsibilities. Also DD2 will probably go to university, and I suppose that child benefit will end when DDs1&2 turn 18 in July. So I am not expecting an easy year.

I'm trying to do filing and admin today - very slowly, as I am so distractible. Season's greetings to anyone who is around.
