Hi
i'mm pretty much a newbie too, although have posted a couple of times over a few months!!
Like LEwby, I felt I should participate more, rather than just read all your tips!! However, I will likely need your advice rather than proffer some of my own!!
Just moved back to the North East of England after 20-odd years in Hertfordshire. Downshifted and backshifted all at once. Loved doing the job, but felt the need to change and calm down ( I used to get road rage on the way to work around the M25...) and take life a little more slowly. My husbands family is still around here and it is lovely to see our niece and nephew as they grow up, rather than at intervals during the year. We have no children of our own, so being an aunty is extra special.
As its Easter, I thought it would be good fun to take a few days hols from my job and offer to have the kids, to help out with childminding fees etc. So I am really chuffed that we will be having Niece1 and Nephew1 for a day next Wednesday. Have planned a day mostly spent in the garden doing 'stuff', and they do like to help out (hopefully educational too!) Some fun of course, so will take off and do some fun stuff in the afternoon.
Need help in knowing what 11 and seven year olds like to eat and which is healthy for them!!!! Any ideas? Thought maybe of doing a picnic if the weather ok? What would you take on a picnic?
Thanks in advance!Everything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -

Dilbert will think that he's close to god's gift by the time he gets home. Don't worry, I'll let him on the computer. He works with a bunch of muppets, so doesn't really get time to get on the internet during the day.
TM - big hugs to you (((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))
Bargain Rzl - I'm so jealous of you having a GBF! I've always wanted one. If he does go back to Sydney, you'll have free accommodationAnd don't forget you'll be popping in on AussieLass too
The dentist wasn't too awful. A check up is only marginally more expensive than on the NHS - like by £2.50 more. However, I also had to see the hygienist which bumped up the cost considerably. I had worked out what it wasn't going to be more than, and it came in under budget - justThe amount that I'll have left over at the end of the month to put in my car account will be neglible. I'm hoping that my overdraft will be all gone though

Afternoon & Welcome Newbies:D
Have just finished my free baguette for lunch and DD/OH have dropped SIL back home and have gone to buy some wood paint for the garden furniture they have started to sand down.
SIL has cleaned the wooden blinds, cleared/cleaned out the utility room, swept and moped through downstairs and has done all the ironing-so appreciate that alot.
It is raining here now and it seems colder than earlier. OH had to run out and get the washing in. Everyone has been fed and watered and the batter for the yorkies will need to be made abit later.
Right, going to go and have a snooze as not feeling too good.
Take care everyone.

Welcome jan and lewby. You'll soon find we are a friendly bunch.
Well i've got halfway through my to do list. I'm putting off the real nasties like clean the cooker. I might get round to it in a bit. Or not if i'm still as achy as i've been all day. I can probably manage to do another couple of loads of the washing, but i'm waiting till the rain stops to go to the garage for the tumble dryer. Thats my excuse anyhow.
I had an hour on the phone with my sister. I was telling her about the BIL's girlfriend problem, and she thinks i should just act as i normally would, as it sounds like the girl will be a problem anyway regardless of what i do. I might even deliberately wear a tight top to flash the bump to the max. Whatever, i will stop worrying as it isn't good for me. I hope DH sticks up for me if there are problems though,
BRZL - will see how we go for time to whether i can meet you. I think a hectic schedule of visiting friends/family has been scheduled as we haven't seen anyone since the wedding. If there is a blank, will let you know. We are going to mostly be in Eltham and perhaps Bromley if visiting family. I think we are popping up to central london with all my in laws but not sure when. I also want to do a trip to Bluewater as they have a branch of blooming marvellous there. I have an urge to buy more maternity clothes.
Hope you are all having a good day - purplegirl - hope your kitty isn't too groggy.

Michelle - I live really near Eltham and will be around that area until mid-afternoon on Saturday, but will be in Central London all day Sunday
Do get in touch if things aren't too hectic! (I might PM you my mobile number.)
