Thanks for all the welcomes :hello:
Have just found out that the seminar I was due to go to this afternoon/evening is actually on a different day, so will now have to think of something for tea! Was banking on a free evening meal Must put my glasses on when I write these things in my diary............ :rotfl:
Dorry - sorry to hear your news, thinking of you. As you say, perspective, but nevertheless makes us all wish we could do something to help out more...
Moggins - I find that I usually have nowhere to go after a pampering session ,but it's nice to do anyway ! Could not gut fish unless I was dying, sorry. V Squeamish in that regard..... How are you cooking them? They are my OH's fave fish and I tend not to buy them because of the prepping bit.....
PennyPincher - hope you feel better after your nap
There should be some dry bedlinen when I get home tonight (is there a smiley with fingers crossed?!), so snuffly flanellette for me!! Love the stuff, even in summer!!!! Will go to bed early (OH away on business) with a lovely book and maybe a hot choc?
See you laterEverything in moderation..............including moderation..............0 -
Hello all
Big hugs to all that need them.
Just a boring day of cleaning for me today, so down stairs is pretty sparkling despite all the decorating needing doing.
I am freezing sat under the stairs on this thing, so cold in my hall way.
Was hoping to get some washing on the line and some gardening done, but it has been raining all day, desparately need to buy an airer, as we now have no tumble dryer due to lack of space.
I have an inspector from the housing association coming out tomorrow to view all the faults in this place, far too many to list, some would just be nice and others essential for the kids eg no boundry fence in the front garden between us and next door and stinky radiators.
Right going to make a start on upstairs.

Good afternoon,
It's my first of only 2 days at w**k this week as I went to visit my little sis yesterday as it was her birthday & I am off work from Thursday onwards for Easter when I'm going to visit friends & family up north.
I spent this morning catching up on all the emails & paperwork which accumulated yesterday. Now I'm clock watching for 5 o'clock!
I'm off to step aerobics after work, then I'm supposed to be going to a BBQ later this evening. It's pouring with rain & blowing a gale at the moment so it's not looking too hopeful!

Welcome to Lewby and Jan
((((HUGS)))) to TM and Dorry (and anyone else that needs one)
Michelle - maybe have a word with brother and suggest he has a word with GF, say you wont mention it as he has asked you not to, and you want to respect his wishes, but say she will prob notice your bump (and if you are feeling sick) and it would prob be better coming from him than just overhearing something!!!
Well, very good news from the hospital, DD doesnt need her whole arm in a cast, as it looks like her arm is healing nicely on its own. We were seen, now dont all faint, ON TIME and we were out within 5 minutes :j :T !!!! They also let me take a picture of her xray with my mobile phone, so now she can show everyone at school her broken arm!!! He said another week and she prob wont even need her sling, so we are all really pleased now.
As we were out so quikly, we popped to Asda as i wanted to get a duck for sunday, and they had reduced a load of meat and fish, so picked up a few bargains!!!! Mind you, shouldntve really as my freezer is full to bursting, but ive managed to squeeze it all in!!
Stew is smelling lovely in the SC, and im hoping that DSs football has been cancelled, as its been raining all afternoon, and doesnt look like its going to stop, so we will be able to eat at 5 rather than 7.30!!!!
Hope everyone has a good evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Wow Cat - you got seen on time?? That must be a miracle? I have an appointment for X-rays on Thursday at 9.20 and I am just praying I am out on time to pick up dad and get him back to the same hospital for 1.30
Jan - they are already gutted, I just have to remove the heads and tails and fillet them, then I'm going to roll them in oatmeal and shallow fry them, with garlic mash and calabrese.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

hello to all, the sun is actually shining here today although still a cold wind, nice and warm in the ghouse though, will have to give it a good clean before i put any plants in. was at asda earlier and have bought my first bottle of stardrops, couldnt afford microfibre cloth as well as have paid the garage bill today, but will get one soon. lots of love to all esp dorry0

It was a reduced buy from Tesco
Two huge great mackerel which will feed four of us safely for about 50p
I used to buy fish in bulk from a van that came straight from the boats when I lived in Hampshire, none of it had been filleted or anything so I had to learn to do it myself. When you've skinned and dealt with 5 pounds of Conger then it doesn't scare you after a while. Just remember to either salt your fingers when skinning or hold the tail end with a tea towel.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Thanks catowen for the advice. It's a tricky situation i know, as we had my sister and DHs bosses wife both have miscarriages in January as well. Neither of them have felt awkward at all. I think this girl just likes being centre of attention, and gets a bit jealous when me and DH visit his parents because i am so close to his mum. (Me and Dh have been together 6 years, and this is his brothers 6th GF in that time. you can see why his mum doesn't get too attached.) The girl is sulky by nature, and will get offended whatever i do, so i will probably get DH to ring his brother tonight and say what you said. I was thinking something along them lines anyway, as it's not like i can hold my belly in for 4 days. :rotfl:
Forgot to say - glad your DD's arm is not too badly damaged. I remember breaking my arm at 8yo, and it was agony. It was a tiny hairline crack. I did it in Spain on holiday, so parents got a medical bill, but we did get to keep the X-rays.
BRZL - i will try to get an itinary of what my outlaws have got planned. There may be chance to meet up at a local pub or something. Even if we don't manage this time, it is an idea for next time we visit :j I was a bit envious of the fun you will all have at the meet, but i can't do that because of my SAT marking training on that Saturday.0 -
Hi twink, I just remembered that you asked yesterday (?) about how to put smileys etc. in your posts, and I don't think anybody answered - at least, I notice you're still smiley-less! Towards the top of this page (just above all the messages) you should see a thick dark-blue bar containing the links to stuff like the monthly challenges. Immediately above this dark blue bar is a pinkish bar containing, among other things, a link to "User CP". If you click on this you'll get a page with a menu on the left, from which you need to select "edit options". The page that will then come up has loads of stuff on it but if you scroll all the way to the bottom, there is a section called "Miscellaneous Options: Message Editor Interface". There's a drop-down box in this and you need to select "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWIG Editing".
Once you've done this you'll find you have more options at the top of the reply screen (you have to use the "Post Reply" button to get the full reply screen, not just the "Post Quick Reply" option at the bottom of each page).
Hope this makes senseOperation Get in Shape
