Morning all
I agree - a GBF is definitely what every woman needsI must go and find one as I could do with cheering up today - feel all 'out of sorts'.
Well, in the spirit of saving money - this last couple of weeks have been a disaster - with my microwave needing replacing, chimney pots needing 'bird cages', car needing major service, house insurance is due, then we need car tax this month and to top it all, Mr TM got a speeding ticket this morning - he doesn't know it yet as he was in my car!!
Anyway, it's pouring down today - and it was such a lovely day yesterday. Ah wellDS2 had another bad niht (which means I did too
) He's just perked up enough to eat a few cereals but his temp keeps spiking. I did buy non branded baby paracetemol yestarday - twice as much medicine for the money
I didn't get the BM on yesterday - found a couple of slices in the freezer that I toasted. I also got round to defrosting the kitchen freezer yesterday - nothing lurking though
Don't know what I'll be doing today - will depend on DS2. BM will go on - he likes helping me. I shall also make a shepherds pie for tea and might get round to a bit of baking too.
Hope everyone has a good day. I shall go and make a cuppa, have a shower and make myself cheer up now

Well I haven't done anything that I wanted to do yet - I expect I'll have a mad dash after lunch  Had a lovely relaxing bath this morning and read two chapters of my book whilst I was in there
2nd load of washing is on and I've washed up last night's dishes/pans/glasses etc (who said I was a dirty girl for not doing it last night?)
DD and I have just had hot cross buns for elevenses - yummy! Well this being at home lark can make you procrastinate something terrible  I must I must do some housework
Catch you all later! Hope Master TM feels better soon!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -

Lunch: HM Vegatable Broth
Dinner: Spagetti bolognese (and a glass of wine)

Ah say no more. A fellow Aussie.
TM cheer up. I hope Master TM improves. How did you go with the no nappies yesterday?
I'm off to bed very shortly. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning peeps
Well my SC shepards pie was lovely yesterday although I do have a tendancy to cook as if the whole of warrington was coming for dinner so i do have a lot left for the freezer. Its throwing it down here so no chance of any washing going out or gardening done - shame:D Today is another admin day and I really do need to get the VAT done today or i will be trouble with my very stroppy accountant! I need him on my side cos i was going to ask him if a pair of those gorgeous Jimmy Choos Racy bought could possibly slip through as a business expense!!
Pooky - how fantastic is that - what a lovely gift for you and your family
LTS - you must be really proud of DD but move those ornaments quick!
Dilbert - Where are you - we want to know about your day!
Tootles - Congratulations on the massive pay rise!! you must be rushing to the shops as we speak!
Cha97 - thats terrible of course you will want to talk about your pregnancy with your family - i hope it works out ok
Bargain - i have a GBF too and i know what you mean he is loads of fun without any hassle!
TM - ((((((((((hugs))))))))))) hope you feel better later hun and keep doing the lottery!!
Right well i guess the w**k word needs to slip into my vocabulary now!
Hope you all have a lovely Tues

Morning all. dd1's 11th birthday today, so she has been busy opening lots of pressies, she was very pleased with the pampering pack (foot spa, facial sauna and facial massager) that we got her, reduced to £4.00 in Tesco after Chrimbo, and really really pleased with the pink camera I bought with my Boots advantage card points (not half as pleased as I was saving all that money!).
Have had brunch this morning as rather late getting going, but am planning a late lunch/early tea of pork tenderloin wrapped in ham and cheese (still emptying the freezer, and pork needs to be used up), will do with baby roasties and veggies, apple pie and custard/ice cream for pud, and will throw together a malt loaf for the children to have for supper. Need to eat early tonight as I'm working this evening!
Payday on Thursday so hoping to find a bargain washing machine to replace our one that is slowly dying on us, and can then finally get on with all the washing that's stashed in the office. Have only been using WM for essentials, as trying to keep it going for as long as poss!
Also need to pack for dd2 who is off on Brownie camp tomorrow - hope the weather goes back to being sunny, as it's currently tipping down here, and not much fun for the Brownies in this weather (though they are staying in a hut and not tents).
Have a good day everyone!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Hi everyone!
Apologies but haven't had a chance to read all the posts as am on a short break today.
Not much scope for OS today as will be dashing off after work to pick up the small person from my parents but have cleaned the bathroom and done a general tidy up.
Had a real treat last night....had planned to be mega sensible and cook our tea at the same time as the small person's plus his friends [you know making full of the oven] but came over all racy......looked pleadingly [whilst rapidly flutttering eyelashes at OH]. He looked a bit puzzled for a moment and then said "what are you after!". He knows me too well....consequently we pushed the boat out and had a gorgeous meal out at the local pub. Me? Manipulative Female?! Never!!
Anyway tonight it's back to earth with a big bump and it's HM kedgeree folks!

Hello everyone. Just wanted to say Hi and ask if I can join you on the OS Board. I know Jamiedodger from the DFW Board but would like to get to know everyone else ..... you sound so friendly and supportive!
I have been lurking on this board for a few weeks, usually following recommendations on the DFW board for good money saving ideas. I have tried the Grocery Challenge (although not doing brilliantly so far) but it's early days. As you can see from my signature, I have a long way to go to be debt free but I am very determined and realise that if I can become an OS Moneysaver then that will help me to develop better habits for the future!
I'm married, have 5 kids (2 of own plus 3 step children who live with us a fair bit), work full time as a Marketing Manager and lead a very hectic but homely life!
Hope you don't mind me joining you ... it sems so rude to sit and read your threads without contributing! You regularly make me LOL!
