Maybe the neighbour said he didn't want it outside his house and becuase you said you had no objections (albeit to the stop being a few metres away from the front of your house) they decided to plonk it in front of yours.

Good luck, it would pee me off too.

OP u stomped on ur own thread really.... u never had a problem with people looking in ur house b4 due to ur lack of net curtains or blinds so what does it matter now theres a bus stop?!

if u had such a problem ud move to a house/flat off a main road.

OP have you actually been and sat in the bus stop opposite as I would be very suprised if during the day when the lights are off whether anyone can actually see into your house. When I lived in a terrace down a very narrow street I simply could not see into the windows opposite. I think its to do with there being less light on the inside than outside. Of course this does change in the evening when you put the lights on but then presumably you will close the curtains.

Read the thread Chuckly, you'll find the answer to this!

You think I should move house rather than the shelter be turned around?

Yes, I have. You can see right in.

My stairs are open into my lounge & you can see me walking up & down the stairs too & everything I do in my lounge, which is where I eat too, as there's no dining room. It's only a tiny house with the lounge in the front and small kitchen behind.

Would the shelter being turned around help massively. I know a lot of the time I never sit at shelters like that and stand outside anyway- looks like I'd still see in? Anyway...

Is that the top of the yellow bus stop marking on the road just under the left hand side of the shelter? If so I'd say that is correctly placed to guidance. I'd also add that the pavement has to be wider for a turned around shelter too.

Complain to your councillor, I can guarantee the council will soon pay attention to your gripe when a councillor is passing it onto them.

Looking at the picture though I dont see the problem though, sure people were standing there prior to it being erected so now they are sitting there instead.

I think you are being paraniod!

I wouldn't like it either. I hate net curtains, and blinds? Are you people serious? We have vertical blinds in our rented house and I hate them with a passion. This is supposed to be a home, not a doctor's surgery.

Unfortunately I suspect the council would tell you to get a curtain too.
