Hi, Yes the Transport Planning Dept at the local council. They refuse to do anything about it saying it's the responsibility of TfL only.
TfL still haven't bothered to respond.
I'm not sure what steps I should take next.
Phone them. Prob Bus Priority Team I think in TfL or something- try 0207 887 3350 or 020 7227 7886 is customer services.
Bear in mind- if you send a letter I'd expect 3 weeks for a response at least!0 -

Hi, is there no way you could put that glass in your windows that no one can see in but you can still see out.Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0 -

My thoughts entirely, I wondered before why no one had suggested it, then I thiought, "why the hell should she?"I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Just to update anyone who's still following....
The council weren't interested and just say it's down to TfL (transport for london).
I have emailed Tfl and had absolutely no response beyond an automated reply saying my email was received.
My local councillor has been copied in on all correspondence.
The local council transport planning depratment say they have also emailed TfL and had no response.
Useless.
Give them a chance.
Whilst this is a BIG issue for you, I'm sure it's just one of their many complaints.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Well she could approach them and ask them. If they didnt pay for the windows they might give her some free travel on their buses or something.Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0 -
I now have a bench full of people sitting and staring directly at me all day long. Unless I close my curtains & sit in the dark there's nothing I can do!
Consider net curtains, and or getting a job and leaving the house during the day.Why couldn't they have faced the bus shelter away from the road (so that the people would have their backs to my house)?
Then people would not see the bus coming?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

""Then people would not see the bus coming? ""
That explains why the buses in Hastings are not really full as the shelters all face that way. I must have a word with the Bus Co.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
There's a big difference between someone walking past and looking in (for all of 2 seconds) and someone sitting waiting at a bus stop, bored, looking around for an average 15 minute (?) wait.
I'd not be happy ether OP and think that given the circumstances (shop/longer gardens etc) better planning could have avoided this situation. Classic case of council 'office' planning with little care to seeing the reality of this in practice. Imo.
I suspect they will be hoping you are just going to moan and move on. Up to you how determined you want to be about it all. At the very least, you need an informative reply which should explain if it's even possible for it to be moved or not.Herman - MP for all!0 -
If I'm honest I'd be cheesed off too.
However, the bus stop was already there, and the time to complain was then (isn't hindsight wonderful). I suspect the footway is too narrow to have the shelter facing away from the road, so turning it around is likely to be a non-starter.
If I were a TfL engineer I wouldn't be particularly inclined to shell out a fair bit of public money on moving a bus stop and shelter for the benefit of one person, particularly when it's likely to draw at least one complaint wherever you put it. Sorry to sound harsh, but I don't think you're going to have much luck here.0
