Morning all, another day, another diet... Can't afford Slimming World or buying anything different this week (Hypno's £20 challenge). So going to do a DIY plan, based on what I can scrounge from the cupboards, garden.

    [STRIKE]Breakfast - Tomatoes on toast[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Snack - Mango[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Lunch - Tuna/Onion baked potato[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Snack - carrots[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Tea - Prawn stir fry[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Exercise - running around the park playing fooball and tig with the boys.[/STRIKE]

Bookie, I dont know how it works yet but there are plenty of us who do I think if you fancy joining in?

Probably will after the holiday Sally. I can't afford to pay to join now out of a job and the whole plan needs to be inexpensive. I did well on WW but seemed to spend a fortune on food.

Lou (or anyone else who knows about slimming world)

Once you join is there some forumla for working out what things are 'free' or how many sins things are or do you need to look up each item, i.e. each brand of yoghurt on the SW website or books?
(I know with WW you can calculate points by knowing the SatFat & Calories for example).

Also I know vaguely about red & green days but I'm a bit concerned that it will be hard to do for a veggie - I've looked on the SW website at a free 7day vegetarian plan and it seemed to be full of quorn products. Now I'll eat them now and then but wouldn't want to be having pre-prepared stuff like that everyday.

    Any thoughts?

There are 1000s of things to eat on a green day think pasta, rice, couscous, pusles potatoes etc, I am not too keen on Quorn either but dont mind it in a chilli or bolognaise.

As for calculating syns, when you join group you get a food directory with a good list of the most common foods, you can also check on the SW website to find out the syns in almost anything.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

Looks OK but dont forget to include a little dairy products in with your day if you have them:D

Thank LouiseJ, really appreciate the feedback. I do eat dairy products, and have plenty of milk and butter in fridge. What would you suggest is required to make the above more balanced, and still lose the weight?

Could you grate a little cheese on your tomato toast? You can have about 1oz of hard cheese such as cheddar on the SW plan and this is counted as a healthy extra choice.

You can have 3 babybel lites for 1 portion too but they are on the expensive side I think:o

  • Ooh count me in please! I lost 3 stone on SW last year and have been taking a break from it since about August/September so need to get back on it now and lose another 2 stone at least. Ideally 2.5/3 stone. Need to stop making cake!

    Hi guys,

i have beetween 1/2 and 1 stone to lose.

i lost 3 1/2 stone on weight watchers a couple of years back so have the basic knowledge to go it alone (with your help) but am undecided on whether to sign up to WW or SW this time - what you think?
