Go to https://www.halifax.co.uk. At the very top, in the blue bar, click "Contact Us". Then choose "Contact us by phone". The website lists the phone number for each product type, plus a geographic number at the bottom.
Not exactly hidden.
i have just rang them as i had trouble accessing my accounts yesterday and this morning
after going through the automated messages and putting my details in, it just comes up with a voice message saying they are having trouble with their systems and please ring back later
i need to do an urgent transfer. this is not good enough0 -
Just tried again now and have no access to ANY previous transactions, are we entitled to some sort of compensation for this!
Also phoned the help line 08456020000 3 times on on each occasion was cut off BEFORE I actually spoke to anyone.
Dreadful service.
yep, same thing happened to me as above, disgraceful0 -
I don't know as I can't access my transactions, also they are not providing the service promised.opinions4u wrote: »Why, have you lost money as a result?
If you lost your TV / Broadband or phone service for 5 days you expect some sort of compensations surely!0 -
Getting fed up with this fiasco; I'm seeing my bank balance dwindling and have no idea why right now as I can't see the transactions.
I hope they have deep pockets because i expect some apology money...

Ask them to refund what you've paid for the service for the lost days then.If you lost your TV / Broadband or phone service for 5 days you expect some sort of compensations surely!

Yep - no idea how we coped before on line banking. I've used it for more years than I can remember. Maybe we all had no idea on the state of our bank accounts in the good old days. We all like information instantly now (me included on things like that). I can't see any compensation as the majority haven't lost anything. Maybe you could argue your case in that you have lost out financially due to not having access to the information. No idea how far you would get on that though. It will be interesting to see if the Halifax publicly admit to what has gone wrong with the upgrade to there systems at the weekend. I work in IT and to me this is a project gone slightly (even hugely maybe) wrong somewhere.0

Good old fashion Branches, which there are less and less of now, went into one yeswterday to get some change (£1 coins) and they didn't have any!0 -

We coped by paying cash for things: but now folks won't have cash or cheques so you don't have the luxury of balancing your cheque book or checking your purse to figure out where your money went!:p0 -
Ask them to refund the cost of the 0845 call if you get cut off. Remember you're paying for that as soon as it moves to the halifax phone systems. It annoys me that we have to pay for the cost of these calls to be put on hold. The call should only be charged when someone answers. The phone regulators should sort that, but that will never change. I tried calling, on hold for 20mins and then cut off as above. Given up and will wait for things to return to normal. I guess I shoud have got the number from saynoto0845.
The post mortem meeting at the halifax on this would be good to sit in on and listen to the excuses given. :-)0 -
What is rather worrying is that for all our long-term fixed rate ISAs there's a message saying they have to be reactivated and that I can add funds. These are all single payment, 3 or 4 years fixed term ISAs which cannot have any cash added to them. Hate to think what would happen if I pressed the "reactivate" button and add funds as they tell me to.0
