It is on the BBC website that they are having problems,

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-business-14898642
your case shows they are having quite a few.

I suspect that the majority of savings accounts are experiencing problems. Though not all such customers will have realised it. (Not everyone logs on each day :D).

The BBC website quotes the Bank as stating :
"We're sorry for the inconvenience that this is causing, it will be resolved as soon as possible today."

    We'll see ... ;)

Does anyone else have a Halifax 5 year Fixed Rate Websaver where all interest is due at maturity?

I have one of these and it is now listed online by Roll number (not by sortcode & account number) - does anyone know why this particular account is listed by Roll number whereas all of my other accounts are listed by sortcode/account number?

Also, as someone else has mentioned, I have noticed that the names of recipients are replaced by account numbers on internal standing orders, also the Reference field now shows the source account number when previously it was blank. Can someone please confirm that these pre-existing internal standing orders are executing successfully (my next one is not due until Friday).

Finally, I've noticed that the Reference number on all of my credit card direct debit mandates has changed from what was a 6 digit number (the originator's id) to now be the actual credit card number. Again, can someone confirm that direct debits to credit cards are being taken successfully.

    Thanks for any help.

Names have disaapeared on my accounts and I have also acquired 2 cashcard and a saver account on my Internet banking that are not mine :/

The comment by Tarquin on Computer World, below, is very worrying if true.

I had a credit card DD yesterday. What's more it was my first DD ever for that credit card. It showed up on both the Halifax site and the credit card company's site as having gone through, which is a relief.

Oh boy this is getting a bit shambolic. Braved logging in again this evening and if anything it's got even worse since yesterday - all of my account names appeared in what seemed to be hexidecimal! I could view my current account transactions yesterday but now can only view yesterdays transactions and nothing previous. Thankfully my credit card transactions are showing accurately (in the new Lloyds format) however balance and credit still appear as NIL. I heard a rumour that people were getting access to other peoples accounts earlier and from what some of the above posters have said it seems true, hopefully very isolated cases..

    I'm sure some do. Unfortunately I don't.

That sounds like something known technically in IT circles as a "migration error". I suspect they'll get round to cleaning that up later on.

I've successfully completed an internal transfer today.

Not tried, but no reason to assume it won't.

Its there, but with no balance, credit limit or available balance, and its called "Introductory Standard Mastercard"

They really need to put something on the website, as it seems to be dragging on with nothing much happening. The only improvement thats happened with my online banking is my piggy icon next to my ISA has re-appeared!! A lot of my transactions are still missing from my current account and my ISA

My balance, credit limit and and available credit are all back up this morning. It also shows my monthly £5 reward credited on Monday. Its still called an Introductory Standard Mastercard, though.

I went online with Halifax yesterday and could log in but received the service message at the top of the page. My debit account was ok but the credit card account only showed the balance and nothing else - statements and transactions unavailable. I do not have any other accounts with them.

I performed two transfers from the debit account anyway, one to pay an external bill and the second towards the Halifax credit card. The external one went through immediately but the internal was delayed automatically until today.

Just logged in to see if it was processed overnight, and the two transfers are recorded in the debit account but the credit card account itself now shows nothing more than a logo (no name or balance etc).

I've also been having issues with Santander online lately, ie no statements available for download since July, but I'm assuming that's unrelated and simply due to Santander being thoroughly crap.
