I will answer my own question that I posted earlier regarding who would give their 5 month old baby sweet and sour sauce from a chinese buffet.

Its the sort of person who would refer to their 5 month old baby as a 'little f****r'.

The OP is obviously an idiot and a wind up merchant so I am going to stay away from this thread now. We are obviously not getting anywhere.

I conclude that the MAJORITY of us do agree that chocolate, yogurt, sweet and sour sauce etc are not appropriate weaning foods for a 5 month old baby.

Firstly... I cannot believe this thread is still going:D
secondly...maybe the OP has a "sense of humour"
thirdly...all of these foods you have mentioned here are all available as baby food jars so why not feed them to your baby?

I remember reading somewhere that the OP did state that the baby spends most of his time in his walker.

Would a child that isn't ready to stand up/walk with the aid of the walker etc just not sit down though? Even if you did put him in a walker.
How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?
  • pink butterfly think yourself lucky - both of mine like chocolate but would prefer a huge fruit salad. chocolate is cheaper and takes less time to prepare :rotfl:

mine are lactose intolerant so although they like a bit of choc it has to be limited, but yes you're right they do like sweets sometimes, or a bit of ice cream.

a tip from the bad mums club - if their chocolate is fruit and but you can count it as one of their 5 a day :rotfl:

    Oh I do don't worry :)

Is pickled onion monster munch part of the five a day?? Onion is a vegetable I suppose??

i assume that the baby jars are made without salt, MSG, aspartame and other nasties but the 'adult' versions are not.

maybe they should make larger jars of baby food for adults :D

LOL! Yep, unfortunately it's the nasties that make them tasty (to adults, that is!) I think I'll pass on the adult portion baby jars though :p

Actually, sitting in a baby walker for an extended period of time is really bad for babies' hips - 20 minutes is the max they should be in it at any one time. The same goes for swings etc. Also, the point made earlier about needing to be on the floor in order to develop all their muscles is really important. Ideally they should be encouraged to spend as much active time as possible on their tummies - difficult with many babies these days, now that we're no longer supposed to let them sleep on their tummies, so many babies never get used to it and absolutely hate it (one of mine did). Still, it's worth persevering, at least for a few minutes every day. It's at this age that they develop coordination between their arm and leg movements, and this is also important for the formation of certain brain connections. It has actually been shown that babies who never crawl are more prone to difficulties with reading and writing later on.

Ok, I'll stop here since this strays even further from the original subject :)

Whenever I read 'discussions' like this, i'm always amazed at how everyone has always fed their children a strict diet of healthy fruit, vegetables and water. They are also obviously the most healthiest and fantabulous children ever who don't ask for chocolates or sweets and would rather have a nice healthy piece of fruit or tofu or similar.

I'm not quite sure where you read that  Even those of us who disapprove of giving chocolate to a 5-month-old have admitted that our children eat treats, and most of them love chocolate. JUST NOT AS FIRST WEANING FOODS.

Ok, I give up - some people really can't read, it seems
  • Hi, I am buying one of these for my sister due end of July.
The cheapest one I can find is from an ebay shop, brand new, and costs £87.97 including delivery.
I can't see it any cheaper, has anyone seen a better price or are there any other special offers out there.
    thanks in advance !

There was an element of sarcasm in my post in case you missed it and I can read perfectly well thank you   <-- See look, I can use this smilie too, aren't i smug and clever :)

What I don't understand is why you are getting your knickers in such a twist over it. Firstly, the guy asked for advice about a car seat and secondly its none of your business what he feeds his baby.
