    oh right...DOH
we don't have a base with our seat, it came with the travel system we got, think its mamas and papas pliko 3 but not sure if it is compatible with isofix.
if it is i think ill definately get a base to suit it as it would save hassle of using seat belt as well as being safer!

just hope i can find somewhere that sells them for a bit less than £100!

Some seats with bases still need the belt to go round the back of it so still some fiddling.

We have the Bebe Confort CreatisFix and you can use this with or without a base. If we did use the base its the lap part of the belt that holds the base in place and once the seat is clicked in you still need to put the belt around the back of it so not really much less fiddling so we didnt bother.

I'm looking at the next size up 9-18kg. So far the cheapest one I've found is the Britax Duo Plus Isofix Geneva - it's on https://www.kiddicare.co.uk for £149.97 - the cheapest price I've found so far.

Will keep looking as I've another week before my car gets delivered so I have a bit of time.

If we had a compatible car I would pay out for one just for the sheer ease of being able to take the seat in and out. Trying to properly secure an ordinary seat into my car is like something off the Krypton Factor and it means that rather than moving the seat with the baby I will just have to take the baby out an disturb it

Maxi Cosi Cabrio is the one we went for. I signed up to Which? for £1 for 3 months and this car seat was the one that came out top in their tests.

We have two isofix seats. One for our 12month old and another for our 3year old. Both isofix and absolutely fab. I wouldn't go back to normal seats and when you do have to go in a car without isofix, you can't help feeling it isn't fitted properly.

When our eldest was born they didn't have baby isofix or if they did it was extremely expensive. So we just used a normal maxi cosi cabrio, without any base just using the seat belt, and i can say that fitted very securely. But if we have another i will get an isofix infant car seat.

We have the britax duo isofix and it is great, it is on it's second occupant and still going strong, worth every penny! we have a britax booster seat for our eldest, this is isofix but she wears her seatbelt round it. It is great as the seat is fixed and doesn't move.

Can highly recommend them, more expensive but they give you great peace of mind.

We have a Britax Evolva 2-3 isofit Ultra. Have googled it and it comes up in Argos

0983598 is the product code, sorry tried to do a link but it didn't work, was too long!!

It was the safest ones on the Which report. But make sure you are looking at the isofit version as they also do a cheaper one without isofix.
