Advice needed - baby car seat questions (merged)

All the car seat training I have undergone states that we tell parents to put babies forward facing from 22lb - as there is a tendency for many parents to want their babies to be 'the first' to do things - walking, eating solids, going up in the next stage car seat etc. It's still safer for them to be rearward facing for as long as possible!
Can you tell me where seats are tested with different weight limits, as I've always been led to believe it's 22lb.
I do not know where they are tested with different weight limits but most of the safety places will tell you that they are tested at various weights, they will not just test at one weight as this does not prove whether the seat is safe at higher weights, i.e 1,2,3,4 year olds!
Yes it is safer for them to be rearward facing for as long as possible, however this is not always possible, my daughter is proof of this!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I think the moral of the story is don't post that you give your 5 month old junk food then complain he is too big for his carseat...
For goodness sake its their choice, my daughter has chocolate she is still a baby, it aint gonna kill them. It is something different for them to taste! If you didn't give your baby different tastes and textures then they will never learn! as for complaining he is too big for his carseat you are presuming that this is due to the amount of chocolate!!! you have no idea why he is so big, he could just be a big baby! My friends baby is 1 and is in 2-3 yr old clothes, he has a strict diet yet he is a big baby! it happens!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
hey hun, best not tell them about the lollypop at 2 weeks old then....
ha..
i would say post some pictures up, but photobucket has been banned so day by day the internet is being limited. Have you checked eBay, that sunbed reached more than enough. Found a car seat, think it wont match the car though.0 -
Common knowledge for a long time not to put anything, including baby rice, into a bottle!!!!!
Yes common knowledge, however it did no harm in the olden days and does no harm now! Maybe that baby rice in the bottle for the last bottle comforts the baby long enough to get a good nights sleep. Again everyone has a different way or parenting and bringing up their children. If it is not the way you have brought up yours then there is no need to be nasty about it and attack!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

i see you took £200 from the gambling account for euro's.. ah well, noticed skybet have £50 free, so thats a good £40 for about 20mins work. Ill keep looking for the rest, think can get the final thing on bet3*5 too depending on if first one wins / loses etc. Again, another easy £40 odd.

I think these two are just trying to get a reaction. Well here is my final reaction, I feel sorry for a child whose parents refer to them in that way.0 -

OK. Don't move your child into another car seat as the manufacturers guidelines, along with health professionals say your child is not heavy enough yet. Take your baby to Mothercare, along with your 'red book' and an up to date weight and they will refuse to sell you a larger seat.
If you go against the manufactures and health professionals advice, any injury your child sustains will be completely your fault.
I will assume that is straight to the point enough for you."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0
