    Utter nonsense!!

You know, some health visitors say you can wean from 2 months.

    No dairy? :rotfl:

I personally have weaned my 5 from about 6 weeks.

    :T:T:T

My son was weaned at 12 weeks, and my daughter was weaned at 8 weeks but I weaned her due to having health problems with reflux.

If the car seats are crash tested from 22llbs then howcome they allow a 19llb start weight on them, they are infact tested with verious weights! Also they should be a minimum of 19llbs not the 22llbs you stated. If you read on most of the baby sites they all state 19llbs.

All the car seat training I have undergone states that we tell parents to put babies forward facing from 22lb - as there is a tendency for many parents to want their babies to be 'the first' to do things - walking, eating solids, going up in the next stage car seat etc. It's still safer for them to be rearward facing for as long as possible!

Can you tell me where seats are tested with different weight limits, as I've always been led to believe it's 22lb.

Hello all this is Mrs Alias,

OMG Let me just say my husband was just asking about a car seat and not weaning advice, we have a 4 year old daughter who at 3 months was on solids. If your not meant to wean them til there six months old then why are the jars in shop from 4months onwards? You all experts are you. I would say he gets chocolate once a week if that. Where do these experts get there information from do they open babys bellys up to have a look?
He loves his food and if he doesnt get in then he cries for it. Next you'll be saying that i cant put baby rice in his last bottle because thats not good for him.
Next time stick to the question.

Glad i've got that off my chest.

Hello husband see you on thursday morning sweetie. xx
  • Hi Ms Alias

I think the moral of the story is don't post that you give your 5 month old junk food then complain he is too big for his carseat...

If you do get a second hand one make sure you check that it is compatible with the car it will be used in first. The britax website has a way you can check if it will fit so i guess the others do too. OH and I had to get a seat that has two ways of routing the belt because what fitted his car was 'buckle crunching' in mine so the car seat belt would've undone in a crash

If you can afford to, buy a new car seat, there are loads of other baby things that you could get from freecycle/NCT sales/ebay etc to save money ;)
