I dont see how anyone caring to recylce would lie ? maybe i am too trustworthy, but i personally would believe the poster that the carseat had, not been in an accident.
I personally have bought all 3 of mine new car seats, however all 3 have then gone on freecyle no problem, only winge i had was the replies being fussy over the fabric choice !0 -

i don't think anybody would go to the trouble of giving away a seat and lying about its conditionif mine had been in an accident i would not have given it away.
this is freecycle, not sales ads. there's nothing in it for the person giving it away so why would they lie?
Exactly what i was thinking before i read your post!:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
My daughter is chunky, she is now 10 months old, she is not fed chocolate but has veg/fruit with every meal aswell as having finger foods of fruit and veg. Chocolate does not harm as a little treat, I brought my son up the same way, he is now 5 and would rather have fruit than chocolate. I think everyone has different view on parenting, however I think people need to get off their high horse and leave the OP alone, let them bring up their children their own way and maybe if there are any mistakes then they will learn from them.
As for Car seats, my daughter had a britax car seat, she lasted in it til 6 months old and we had no choice but to put her in the next stage due to safety, at the time she only weighed 16llbs however her legs could push against the back seat and she was too squashed up in the first stage one. Since being in the forward facing car seat she is a lot happier and more content in being in the car.
My partner spent several hours and subscribed to which to check out all of the safety reports and things like that on the car seats, we eventually chose the Maxi Cosi Tobi as this was one of the safer car seats on the market even though it was very pricy. I would never go back to any other 2nd stage car seat. When strapped in by the main seat belt the car seat does not budge at all where the normal ones where they go through the back of the seat always have some movement. With my son he had a £50 from Mothercare, twice I have to take it back for a swap, only the 2nd time I refused to exchange and I changed to a britax. My son had to be moved from the 2nd stage car seat and into a booster seat with a back as he could undo the straps on his seat. Recently I had to buy him a new one, went for another britax costing £99 purely as this was one of the safer ones on the market and my sons weight varies, he is 5 but still needs the waistline of clothes of a 2 year old.
Just do your research before buying as they are very expensive and they do need to last.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Id take your Audi A4 Avant to a local car seat specialist (nursery shop. mothercare or halfords) and see what fits in the back of your car before you buy. other than that have you contacted Audi direct ?
you can very often buy replacement covers on line, I bought leather effect covers for my daughters car seat, when i had an audi, but to be honest found they got very hot in the summer, and ended up switching back to the fabric based covers.
i definately suggest keeping her facing rear forwards for a while longer yet, my son was 16lb at 11 weeks, and he remained rear facing for as long as was possible.0 -

You were honest, but others might not be, I think you just cannot take a risk. Would you have used a freecycle seat for your children? different if you know the person who has used it, like a family member.0 -
hi, yes had same worries about leather as its a problem in the summer wearing shorts in the past.
Shall take the car down and have a look at what fits in nicely.

The reason they say don't use a second hand car seat is when they have been in an accident the straps that hold the baby in stretch a little and never go back to how they were. You would probably never notice this looking at the seat. the first you would know about it is if you are unlucky enough to have an accident the straps would have no give left in them.
All that said if you are happy with the person you are getting the seat off and trust them then I personally don't see a problem with a second hand seat.0 -
Absolutely - babies are safer the longer you can leave them rearward facing - and they should be a minimum of 22lb before you put them forward facing, as the seats are only crash tested from that weight.
If you have the Primo Viaggio car seat it's a Group 0+ and should last him till his 29lb anyway - although in practice the seat does seem a bit on the small side.
You could always try a 2 way seat (Britax First Class) which has a seat to last a child until they are 4, but don't be tempted to turn it round too soon! And they can be a pain to fit in some cars.
My nephew (who was only 5lb when he was born) was 18 months before he got to the 29lb weight limit, his head didn't come up above the top of the seat, so rearward facing he stayed!
If the car seats are crash tested from 22llbs then howcome they allow a 19llb start weight on them, they are infact tested with verious weights! Also they should be a minimum of 19llbs not the 22llbs you stated. If you read on most of the baby sites they all state 19llbs.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Babies are not recommended to have solids until six months for a reason you are putting him at all sorts of allergy risks, disgestion problems and being overweight in later life. chocolate is deffo not for young children. children should not be given products containg dairy under six months from the department of health.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
