I'm (yet another) cpw employee and thought today was .... well, interesting. I work in a new consession store, located (unfortunatly!) inside a Powerhouse store, so we're pretty quite, but we still signed up a number of people, who were fantastic considering the problems mentioned earlier re procsessing the sale, which by 6pm still wasnt working - more than annoying, but not unexpected.

I think its a great deal, how it all pans out when people start getting connected (apparently there is only a set amount to "go live" each day to make sure there are no problems withthis) remains to be seen, but I do genuinely have confidence.

My only complaint was the amount of point-of-sale stuff there was to sort out!! Do we really need so many banners?!?!

You just confused me about the download limits.

I thought a megabyte was smaller than a gigabyte ( in rounded terms a megabyte is a million bytes and a gigabyte is a billion bytes - isn't it?). Therefore 1 gigabyte is 1000 megabytes it seems to me.

You say you won't be using the service because you are a heavy user and are on 24 megabyte with Be ( don't know who they are) but that would be a lot less than 40GB - would it not?

I'm missing something here I reckon.

The 40 Gb seems HUGE to me. I am on Metronet with 420MB limit at £11.75 per month which I can never exceed. By my understanding Talk Talk are offering me over 80 times more capacity. I cannot see where anybody can go wrong. My math must be wrong so please correct me as I do not want to join up and find I fill my download capacity within 2 days.

I think the reference to 24mb is the line speed and not the download allowance. Some ISP's are offering these high speed connections.

    Hi Lawnmower Man
The 24MB is the speed (per ???). The GB limit is per month in total.

Does anybody know whether you can keep your existing phone no. and / or whether this affects your ability to subscribe to Sky?

    Cheers
    Rob
