No doubt CPW will claim that any bad feedback on CS is just a few exceptions, or that it has retrained its CS staff to improve service. But that's the sort of thing you hear all the time from companies and it is often BS. In practice, we won't know until we have made the switch. Is there some sort of trial period or other way we can get out without significant penalty if we find that service is as poor as many reports suggest?
Any earlier post from someone claiming to be a CPW employee (and I have no reason to doubt they are), said that peer to peer traffic is restricted at peak times. Is there some sort of guarantee that there will be no other traffic management over the 18 month period? Or at least a right to leave without penalty, if CPW suddenly decide they need to restrict some other kind of traffic that is degrading overall quality of service to customers?koru0 -

And of course the extra ten quid they charge for broadband if you are not in a free broadband area like me ....Sam0 -
40 gb download limit?
Can someone explain this please....................for instance, how long would it take to download 40 gb.
I know nothing of these things so sorry if this seems like a really stupid question.0 -
I note the one-off charge of £29.99 for transferring customers from their BT exchange line to TalkTalks.
My question to any CPW employee therefore is: If a customer is already subscribing to CPW for their line rental, will the customer still be subjected to the £29.99 transfer charge if he/she wishes to take up the latest broadband package offer?0 -
mikemoate wrote:Good try Scoop but that doesn't really wash. None of those things really effect my ability to get "free broadband" from talk talk, except for when (or if) my exchange gets unbundled by you. I am sure you will be more than happy to provide the service to customers of other llu providers and cable companies if they do the necessary in respect of their telephone line. As for "obvious reasons" you are already saying you are going to do 1,000 exchanges. At the moment it would be like signing up to a "pig in poke" contest.
None of these things may "effect" your ability. But they may affect it!0 -

It isn't really relevant to ask how long it would take to download 40GB, because very few people download constantly. Imagine you had a car which you were only allowed to drive for 10,000 miles per year. You could drive that in about 5-6 days at full pelt in the motorway, but that isn't really relevant as you are hardly likely to want to drive non-stop for 5-6 days. If you are only going to use it for short trips to the shops and work and the odd long trip, 10000 miles per year might be fine. But if you are a travelling salesman, 100,000 miles might seem inadequate. See what I mean?
If you were the broadband equivalent of a travelling salesman, you would have already known the answer to your question.koru0
