Sounds great offer but with their customer service, i think it would be wise to wait a few weeks for the other big players to make a move(they will have to!).....Neil

Gosh you must be one sad person if this is all you have to contribute. I didn't realise this was a "correct use of language" thread. For anybody else who may have made the same heinous error this link may be of assistance!!

anyone signed up yet ? :money:
  • I did today! The offer seems fabalous and the service I received in the shop was excellent despite the pressure the sales consultants were under, also there were loads of other people signing up so this must be a good thing. I will have the complete package within 30 days but I was told given the huge demand there may possibly end up having a waiting list, also they told me something like 50,000 people a minute were checking out their website ... not bad I think for a launch day.

Seems might be the operative word. Did they go through the contract with you carefully ,did you take a careful look at the small print as there are plenty of extra costs.

walked past cpw today, shop seem relatively empty, queues that were forecast were nowhere to be seen.
perhaps folks are hanging on being a bit wary , waiting to see other offers cropping up!
    Nice to save.

as a cpw employee, I'll give the following suggestion

    1) it's a great offer if you want broadband in the home and like to have convenience of getting free calls as well in one easy value package.

2)if you have children etc who like to download things, then you'll only be able to do this between midnight and 9am(as far as I remember). Before that, your usage would be very slow

    3) again, if you like to download alot, remember that some movies could be as big as 2 gig+ depending on the filetype. The average user who likes to download will easily clear 40 gig, so bear this in mind. If you are a regular user but doesn't download too much (i.e. the odd movie the odd episode) then it's a pretty great deal.

    4) Customer services is generally a headache, but you'll at least be trusting a huge company, so complaints etc are more likely to be dealt with.

I personally won't be signing for it as I'm a heavy user. I use Be's 24 mb service ( but not without its disadvantages).

don't forget about the 18 month contract.

    so to recap

if you use your phone at most times of the day and landlines make up most of your calls (with perhaps some of the free international destinations), and you want to have broadband without worrying about the cost and just want to use the net at a moderate level, then this is a great offer.

there was a problem in the stores today with the systems being overloaded . I think this happened across the whole company. So things were a bit sticky today.

I am very interested in the CPW offer. Currently use onetel and wanadoo but still pay BT for line rental. If I change line rental to CPW, can they offer Call sign service?

    Regards

I note the one-off charge of £29.99 for transferring customers from their BT exchange line to TalkTalks.

My question to any CPW employee therefore is: If a customer is already subscribing to CPW for their line rental, will the customer still be subjected to the £29.99 transfer charge if he/she wishes to take up the latest broadband package offer?

I'm not a CPW employee, but I am an existing talktalk landline and broadband customer. Talktalk CS confirmed that everyone must pay the £29.99 connection fee, irrespective if they are new or existing customers.

As I have been happy with my landline or broadband service to date, I have signed up for the new package. However, on a negative note, I must agree with previous posters regarding the standard of CS - it is dire!! I tried to contact them a on three different occasions a few weeks ago and had to give up after holding for over 40 mins each time without an answer. Things can only get better!! ;)
