Let's leave the dust settle and see how things pan out.
The service will obviously be heavily subscribed initially so how will it cope ? The all important contention ratio has not been announced so far (ideally 20:1 max) This will determine how many people will be satisfied first time out. I like the idea BUT there are quite a few snags to overcome before I commit to 18 months contract.

Tend to agree. I think it is good that people can post their experiences of various providers. Ultimately it is up to individuals to then make up their minds, make a choice and hopefully at some future point come back with a balanced view on their expereince so we can all benefit. by the way I think in general contention for most res customers is around 50:1 with most providers.

Need to know which site offers £40 cashback when you join talk talk. Cheers!

quidco still claims £40, but believe as from 24th TT reduced commissions , so cashback sites are likely to be in the £10-£22 region - less if just upgrading

I don't know if it will. BT no longer quote contention for their 8meg MAX product (I'm talking about BT wholesale, not bt yahoo braodband).

Or what's the cheapest option if i do go for a 12mo contract, and leave early, or a company that doesn't charge lots of money to leave before?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

I linked to Carphone Warehouse site thru Quidco.Com (to get the 10% cashback) and after entering my tel no' & postcode was told that the phone would take a couple of weeks to set up BUT broadband not avail till end of July

As far as I remember, you need a BT line to get BT broadband so if Talk Talk take over my tel line, I'll have no internet till the end of July - which I need for work !!

Seems a daft policy - most people won't consider their service if they have to lose internet access for 3 months

    EDIT:

Spoke to BT and apparently I DO NOT need a BT line to continue to receive their broadband !

Spoke to CW and they would still charge me the full £20.99 for Talk Talk tel line (installed in about 2 weeks) although their Broadband wait in my area is three months (end of July).

I asked if they'd give me a discount for still having to pay for BT BB while I wait for their BB connection but the girl said 'no' !!

I'm gonna wait on this now......

If I transfer from BT to TT, will I still be able to get my distinctive ring service (i.e., what BT term "Call Sign" - which gives me another phoen number with a different ring fromym main number".
