    Thanks guys.

I am not too worried about the BRU itself, I mean I don't want Credit anyway, and I have found by budgeting I can survive on my wages ;)

It's the whole dreging stuff back up I don't want, but like your brother Confused, I will take it on the chin and just hope for the best!

Thanks Fiveyearplan, I do wnat to try and stick around to possibly help someother folk too. After I am discharged in August, I will have closure so the word Bankruptcy won't fill me with dread anymore!
  • August will be here before you know it, life goes so quick and soon enough you will look back on this period and maybe even laugh.

  • Hi Amiga,

Good to hear form you again. Like others I had been checking in now and again to see if there was any updates. Good luck with the meeting in March, I'm sure that the fact you are working and looking for a flat will help. Take care and keep in touch.

  • Hi Amiga

I have just read your post and really feel for you. All the best with the future.

A question to everyone about BRO/BRU. Part of the reason for my BKO was due to gambling. On the BKO forms it asked me the quesiton how much in last 2yrs which I put down £1500 (which was an approx figure as didn’t have full details at time of meeting but once I checked my accounts was actually only £1000 approx). However about 4/5yrs ago I did gamble more heavily.

Based on this am I likely to get an BRO/BRU?

    Thanks all.

    Thanks Noofy!

Matt, I think it is more the percentage of the amout you went BR with that can be put down to gambling rather than the actual amount. Also I think it totally depends on the OR's view on things. With me, it was pretty much the main reason, hence why I am very likely to get one. It could be different in your case though

    Well I called back

And have been "invited" to a face to face interview on the 3rd of March!

I always knew I was going to get a BRU but part of me hoped I would get away with it! Seems like I won't :(

I am a bit scared and nervous ( not of the BRU) but of the questions and digging up stuff I am trying to forget about!

Hi Amiga, this is Trolley`s other half and I was the one who went BR last July.
After 7 months off being BR i also received a phone call from the OR regarding my file and i also panicked as after all this time i had tried to forget it all and move on. I was a nervous wreck for a week worrying and stressing about it as i guess your feeling now. I had my interview last week and it lasted 3 hours, but it was my own fault because i hadn't signed or done what he had told me to do in the letter , so that wasted an 1hr and half. I was worried right up to the time i went into the office , but whatever questions he asked just answer to your best knowledge for instance he had my bank and credit card statements for the last 5 years and any large amounts i had to tell him where it had gone ( bearing in mind i couldn't remember what happened last week never mind 5 years ago :rotfl:)
Don`t worry about how long it takes the OR just wants to get all the answers so they can complete and close your BR file. From their point of view seeing you face to face gives them a better understanding of your personal circumstances and you as a person. My OR was understanding he never judged me and the whole experience wasn`t as bad as i expected. It was me worrying over nothing, so the only advice i`ll give you is have a good nights sleep and try not to worry and above all be as honest as you can with the OR and you`ll have nothing to worry about.
Good Luck for the 3rd March let us know how it goes........Please don`t worry :)

Dearest Amiga, I remember reading your post back in January before I even posted myself, I’m so pleased your alright.
Having read your story and all you had gone through gave me the strength to get through my own bankruptcy, so it’s lovely for me to be able to thankyou today. Good luck for march.
