    Thanks again guys.

Just wanted to do a update as it is 3 months today since I went BR. It is funny but life has just gone on. I don't get any letters or hassle now. I have spoken only once to my OR, he/she sent me a letter that my car was going to go, and one to ask for a Payslip.

I know I will get a BRU so I will have to have a meeting in the end but so far it is ok. I have pangs of guilt a lot, and mentally I am not very good ( but this isn't just to do with BR) but I have a temp job now and a little bit of money. I don't go hungry anymore and have started cooking my own stuff a lot more and as well as biking to work I have lost a stone in 4 weeks!

So to those people thinking it over, BR is tough, it isn't the easy way out. However if it is your final option then you can get through it. Life does change, there is no point in saying it doesn't. But I suppose it is what you make of that change that counts. You can't just put things on credit cards anymore but I do, finally, realise the value of money

Anyway thanks everyone for the support and best wishes

Thanks for the update Amiga. I was thinking about you today which is why this thread was on the front page! Fantastic news on losing a stone (well unless you didn't need to of course!).

I am not sure if we are allowed to say "well done" confused but I am glad it is over for you. Any questions feel free to ask. You will be fine though.

Thanks Fiveyear :) I didn't really need to lose it, and I do look a little thin now but my little beerbelly has gone so that is good I suppose. Thanks for the best wishes :)

And you aren't gatecrashing Penguin. Thanks for the best wishes and good advice

Hi Amiga, just catching up with your latest news. It's so good to read that you're feeling a little lighter in life. Your thread will be a tonic to those who feel so low, that there's no way out that change can never happen or can't afford to do what they want to do. You're testament to 'where there's a will there's a way' Good on you for thinking positive and getting out there and on with your life for the better. Keep in touch Amiga x

    Hi Amiga,

Well done my sweet, you have done an amazing thing. As you said yuo are still having a few problems, but that is to be expected. You didn't get to the place you are now in a few days so it is going to take more than a few days to get completly out of it. Baby steps and you will get there.

I am so pleased that the job is going well and I hope you get some more work out of it.

You have been an inspiration to quite a few people and you can go from strength to strength.

  • Amiga,

Really please your job is going well, your messages seem so much cheerier now. Keep up the good work and keep posting to let us know how you are getting on. Sorry to mention Christmas, but perhaps you could put a little bit of your wages towards the train fare and go to visit your Grandad at Christmas, I'm sure he would be delighted to see you.

    Take care

I did plan on doing this but today my landlord told me that she wants me out of the house in Febuary next year, so I need to save every penny towards somehow getting a deposit together and then begging some landlord to let me rent :(

Checked the websites today, costs me 90 quid return for a Train Ticket. I simply can't afford it so will spend Christmas in my room. It isn't that bad, at least I know next year I will be able to spend it with people so thats good!
  • Amiga,

Bad news about the flat, however she didn't sound like a nice landlady anyway. Would it be possible for you to get a bus to your family?? Keep your chin up your luck is changing all the time and maybe you will get a nice room to move into (possibly nearer your job). Keep in touch
